| Jose Aldo Vs. Erik Koch Planned For 'UFC 153' In Rio Jose Aldo Vs. Erik Koch Planned For 'UFC 153' In Rio Quote:
UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo will make his return to action at UFC 153 in October against Erik Koch, according to Zero Hora. The bout will take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The same report also claimed that Vitor Belfort will return from a hand injury to compete at the event, though no opponent was named.
Aldo and Koch were expected to face each other in July, but "Scarface" pulled out with an injury. Aldo has held the title since entering the UFC, and defeated Chad Mendes in Rio earlier this year.

Good, that fight interests me a lot more than a fight with Zombie or Hoaki....2 of the most overrated MMA fighters out there.
I would bet Koch beats both of them.

I would bet Koch beats both of them. | I'm not sure how you can call Zombie overrated. Almost everyone was expecting Hominick and Poirier to beat them (Poirier was a -350 favorite, Hominick's line was also around there), and he finished both of them.

No way he or Hoaki get Aldo down and they get KTFO standing with him.
Koch is a solid striker, he should get picked apart, but at least he has a better chance to land a solid punch or kick.

I love these Brazilian cards and Aldo/Koch should theoretically draw a sellout simply because it takes place in Brazil and Aldo is the hometown boy. As said above, if they book the Nogs and maybe Wand's return, they'll draw another amazing crowd, the Brazilian talent pool is always sick....but PPV buys is a different story IMO.
Despite Hioki now being out of the running for a shot, I still think that there are several better challengers ahead of Koch to meet Aldo upon his return. Zombie is my #1 Draft pick here and FUCK NO, he is not overrated, he's a damn hoss with crazy submission technique and a resounding overall game. If Siver gets a win over Yagin(whom I really don't get why he's even matched up against), I think he'd be a fun matchup and far superior selling point for a PPV, I'd also push Do Bronx in front of the line ahead of Koch just because his name is more recognizable.... heck, even a Cub rematch or Poirier coming off the loss is more interesting for me. Not to say Koch isn't a good fighter, but name value wise, I just don't see the reasoning behind giving him a fight of this magnitude.
