silva is, arguably, a bit larger than machida. i'd love to see those two switch weight classes and make runs at the titles. machida/franklin and silva/evans as debut fights!
also, i think anderson would be the only guy to completely ko rampage since wandy.

One of the greatest fighters I have witnessed while watching live.

When Anderson defeated Franklin, everyone thought Franklin was untouchable. Granted since that defeat Franklin has not done so well, but before that he was great.
He was close to being as dominate as Hughes at one point, and Hughes is a HOFer, as will Franklin in the future.
I would like to see Anderson jump to LHW but I don't think it will tarnish the man if he didn't. Look what he did to Forrest...I think the only one that gives him trouble at LHW is Jones.
The only reason everyone else looks so bad at MW is because Anderson is so good.

Pred... | Then if he is so good, he should have no problems at LHW.

Pred... | Man.. thats a bold statement. I would say hughes was a far more dominant fighter in his prime then rich.

I think when its all said and done Anderson Silva will be G.O.A.T.
His win streak already surpassed Fedors and if you compare competition, I think Anderson Silva has fought a lot tougher of opponents. Only 4 more wins for Silva and he will have the exact same record as Fedor when he retired.
you guys suggesting that he retires are seriously crazy and off your meds.

His best win is Hendo but after that it's either Franklin or Forrest. And while Franklin and Forrest are good fighters neither of them are going to go down as all time greats. So I would really like to see him jump up and join the deep waters of LHW. | The only flaw in that logic is that out of all of the active LHW's, the only guy who will go down as a GOAT for sure is Hendo, and if Jones keeps it up he most likely will as well. Franklin was a more dominant champ than any of the LHW's(besides Jones), very well rounded guy, and Forrest played the belt hot potato at LHW as well as anyone.
Cote was a late replacement who had a decent win streak. Leites got a title shot after beating Marquardt in a #1 contender fight. Lutter got it from TUF. Marquardt was #2 for a loong time, up until Sonnen beat him he was clearing out the MW's with ease. Leben has been a top 10 many times, he has his ups and downs but his fight with Silva was basically a #1 contender fight to fight Silva.
No one only fights guys who are consistently the best, it's just not possible. But he did beat Belfort, Okami, Franklin, Forrest, Hendo, Marquardt, and Sonnen. All of those guys have had great careers.
I feel like everyone claiming MW is shallow haven't fully analyzed the division. It's one of those things where people just keep saying it so it starts to get believed. I think it's just as good as any other division. Evans, Shogun, Machida, Bader, Rampage, they all have serious holes in their games. They are no more skilled than the top MW's. Also, to be honest The bigger MW's are the same size as the smaller LHW's. Evans, Sonnen, Okami, Hendo, Belfort, Machida, Shogun, they are all around the same size.

With Andresons title defense streak, one would think that if he losses this Saturday, that he would be guaranteed an instant rematch. However if he loses (Silva nuthuggers, noticed I said IF) and he gets dominated again by Sonnen in convincable fashion... I dont think Silva wants any part of Sonnen again and either looks at possibly LHW or retirement. Just my two cents

So for discussion's sake, where does Chael go if he loses?
He's beaten 4 top 10's and would of lost to Anderson twice. Cut down to 170? Could he even make it? 205 he loses his size he has at MW.
Discuss.
