i'd go with hendo or bj, both for their tenure, exciting fights, and great competition. gsp after them, higher if he would challenge himself by looking for finishes or new weight classes.

i can't say jones because he's too new. if something crazy happened and he had to retire tomorrow, we'd remember him as a potential goat, but not a confirmed one. for that reason, i want to see a few more years of him before saying he's more than the clear lwh kingpin.

I can't find a logical reason to not say Dan Henderson at the moment.


Jones has the potential to join GOAT discussion if he gets/keeps his personal stuff together and avoids any major injuries. Look at WHO he beat and HOW he did in his short time in the sport.

While this might be true to a point. One shouldn't compare eras. Look at boxing, Ali and Louis are probably the best HW boxers of all time. But Lennox Lewis would have wrecked both of them if they fought.

When those guys fought guys like Jones just didn't exist. You have to take what they did in the context of when they did it.
