| So what does Chael Sonnen do if he loses?
Will he be perpetually the #2 guy at MW? This will be his 6th straight fight against a top 10 opponent. Should he go to LHW? I don't think he'll fair well there. Could he even drop to WW?
He's a huge draw whether you love him or hate him. People want to see him lose, win, whatever.
Will Chael just not have the submission defense to defeat Anderson if he loses? Just curious.

He is way too huge to cut to WW. He would have to lose a kidney and possibly his left foot to even consider it. And I do not think he would move to LHW except for maybe a fight against like Evans or something big like that.
I think he stays at MW and depending on how he loses he may get a third shot at Silva. Honestly lets say the fight was replay of the first one, who else would we want to see Silva fight? Belfort? Franklin for a 3rd time? Maybe Bisping. Eventually these two will cross paths again no matter what the outcome of this fight is because they are clear cut the number 1 and 2 fighters at MW. Hell Ortiz almost got a third shot at Liddell. Why wouldn't Sonnen get a 3rd shot at Silva?

Probably stay at MW, hype up fights against Belfort, Lombard, maybe Bisping II, Franklin or Wandy depending on how things work out. But I don't see him getting another title shot unless he goes on a Fitch-ion type streak.

Belfort wilts under pressure and struggles against wrestlers not named Lindland. He ragdolls Wandy, maybe even finishing him and controls Franklin much worse than Forrest did.

None of them have the takedown defense and ability to get back up (maybe Franklin) to handle the current version of Sonnen. Which is why I think even if he loses to Silva he will eventually see Silva v. Sonnen III.

Chael loses book Wandy vs Chael or is Wandy to far down the list?
Maybe Franklin vs Sonnen. Franklin wants a run, throw him in there.

If Chael loses he would be in the same position as Koscheck and play the absolute same role. The polarizing character that people love to hate. There are many fights for him at MW but as long as Silva sits on the throne he will have absolutely no chance to reign as champ. It's now or nothing for Chael.

I think he beats Lombard, Belcher, Bisping and probably Okami again. Against Wandy....I don't have any want to see that fight.

Chael will be the boat with that "math teacher from Ohio" as he referred to Rich at that point. Damn good fighter but can't beat the #1 guy at the end of the day.
