Luke Rockhold, the Strikeforce middleweight champion, let his feelings known Saturday night after UFC 148: Silva vs. Sonnen II via Twitter. Now, Rockhold's upcoming opponent, Tim Kennedy, let it be known that he didn't feel like "The Spider" acted like a champion in his victory over Chael Sonnen.
"Wipe grease on your arms, grab your opponent shorts, and knee them in the face when they are down. That's how champions should act?" Kennedy posted.
Kennedy will face Rockhold this coming Saturday night in the main event of Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Kennedy on Showtime.
| Strikeforce Middleweight Champion Luke Rockhold Sounds Off On Silva-Sonnen II - FightLine.com Quote:
Don't count Strikeforce middleweight champion Luke Rockhold as a fan of Anderson Silva's. Rockhold called Silva out after his victory over Chael Sonnen for the UFC middleweight title Saturday night at UFC 148: Silva vs. Sonnen II.
Rockhold pointed out on Twitter that Silva wiped the vaseline off his face and on his body. The referee noticed this as well, and took a towel to Silva's body before allowing the fight to being.
"Guys it wasn't just the knee it was the grease the shorts grab, just wasn't champion like," Rockhold wrote.
Rockhold is set to defend his title next Saturday night on Showtime against Tim Kennedy in the main event of Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Kennedy.

Wow.....let the line of haters begin. Seriously? Rockhold, you're no where near the level of Silva, he's on another planet. Try beating some top MW contenders and then maybe you can call someone out. You're a nat who can't even come within 50 miles of the Greatest Fighter on the Planet. You mad Luke?

I missed the greasing thing, at a bar last night. Why are they saying Silva greased?

he wiped his face and then wiped his arms during the introductions.....that tiny bit of grease on his face would not have been enough to impact the fight, you'd need much more grease than that. He did it to fuck with Sonnen's head, and maybe some of his fans too.....

I coulda swore during the Rd 1 break they wiped Silva down with a towel on his face and arms and torso. Wouldnt that be the opposite of greasing? I definitely felt the knee was legal. What short grab tho, I was at a bar and missed that? All I saw was Chael doing some weird spinny thing missing and silva pouncing.

Chael Sonnen talked his way into a huge PPV payday, and now every fighter with a pulse wants to call out the G.O.A.T. That's quaint.

Anderson has been my favorite fighter for a long time now and i'll admit I was disappointed that he grabbed Sonnens shorts. I think its stupid how everyone is blowing up about it though. He's heard Sonnen degrade himself, his family and his country everyday for the last two years and now he's finally in the cage with him. His emotions got the better of him during the fight which I would expect from anyone else who has had to hear someone insult them for so long.

The short grab was not significant, and Sonnen also grabbed Silvas shorts as he admitted in the post fight interview. Let the shit go.
