We haven't heard much from Quinton "Rampage" Jackson in the past few months concerning MMA, but the former UFC light heavyweight champion offered up his take on Saturday's Tito Ortiz-Forrest Griffin decision at UFC 148: Silva vs. Sonnen II.

Ortiz was defeated in his final fight, as the former champion announced his retirement and was inducted into the UFC's Hall of Fame. Griffin, who claimed the belt from Jackson for his lone title reign, topped Ortiz twice by decision in the three meetings between the two.

I feel bad 4 Tito Ortiz he won 2 out of 3 rounds. Y cheat a man on his last fight? It's scary when u can drop a fighter twice n still lose.
Jackson was scheduled to meet Mauricio "Shogun" Rua in what would have likely been his final fight for the UFC, but he delayed the bout to have double knee surgery. No timetable for Jackson's return has been announced by the fighter or the UFC.

Haha Rampage probably thinks he beat Bader as well. I slammed him hard once how do I not win?!?!

This is a fight where there had to be a significant amount of subjectivity on the behalf of the judges because it really comes down to a matter of opinion. Griffin landed considerably more strikes, and Ortiz did much more damage. So should Griffin win because he landed so often or should Ortiz win because he was the closest to ending the fight of any fighter? I had the fight scored for Griffin, but I can see why some feel that Ortiz won. I am honestly glad that I was not a judge for that fight.

I honestly can't even see the controversy. I think Forrest won easily.

Im not saying that there should be a controversy. I had Forrest winning the fight also. All I am saying is that the argument can be made that Tito did more damage, and had Forrest in more danger. Some people may feel that it is more important to put your opponent in danger than to land a high volume of softer strikes that are not doing much damage.

I had to give the fight to Forrest as well, he was busier and landed more, Tito blew his wad in the 3rd and could not do anything the last 2 minutes....

I was fine with the decision. I am with pops though and could see how some people might see it differently. I thought Forrest did enough to win the fight, Tito definitely dropped him twice. If you could make rounds draws then those two rounds would be washes and Forrest would still win the deciding round.

tito did not do more damage, where was the legendary ground and pound nowhere to be found no slams just soft takedowns that forrest got up from, and it was really just one knockdown the one he rolled back on and got right back up, did you see tito's face at the press conference? forrest did that its not all pitter patter he had tito in danger in atleast two points in the fight
of course rampage thought tito won rampage and tito roll together no gi no cups, rampage and tito both move the same at this point in their careers, very slowly.

I don't know what you could possibly argue to say Tito won. Tito was outstruck 4:1 or 5:1, that's bad enough, but if you look at their faces, Tito's face looked fucked up, Forrest looked relatively fine.

Here's a link to Ortiz's face: http://l.yimg.com/os/388/2012/07/08/...jpg_160922.jpg

Here's a link to a Helwani interview of Griffin: UFC 148: Forrest Griffin Told to Get the 'F' Back in Cage by Dana White - YouTube

Who looks more damaged? I don't see any argument. Griffin landed more, tagging Ortiz the whole time. Ortiz got a takedown and did very little GnP and two knock-downs - that doesn't win you a fight where you eat 250+ strikes.

Rampage is still just bitter over Forrest beating him and he won't let it go. Anyways, no Forrest won, there was no robbery of any kind. Forrest outstruck Tito by a large margin and did more damage. Tito took him down and Forrest got back up each time except for the quick takedown Tito went for at the end just to try and sway a judge in case he got the takedown. Tito rocked him twice, but it wasn't like Forrest was completely out of it and he recovered from it well.
