Anderson is a great fighter.
No doubt.

But I have never seen a fighter who I wish would get beat down SO bad!

I find him EXTREMELY hard to like!

Why?

Cause to me he comes off as a complete a-hole.

I want him to get a beat down.

That's the only reason I even watch his fights.

Just my two cents.

Anderson's antics coupled with an absurd level of skill is what has caused people to gain a distaste for him. It has nothing to do with race.

I find him funny from time to time but as an ambassador to the sport of mma he is horrible. He would do well to start his own mma talk show.

I'm glad Anderson is still the champ, he is the absolute best and that is who I want to see win every time... the best, whether it's Anderson or not.

For me I want to see him lose just because he isn't the best and people think he is. If the chonan fight happened in the ufc no one would be saying anything about him being the goat. I still remember a fat out of shape Travis lutter schooling him till he gave up. All that said I still think he is without a doubt best mw ever, top ten goat, but not the absolute best.

OK, well why did Sonnen take the route he did? He said some pretty racist things about Silva, calling him a thug and gangster and such. I realize a lot of peoples immediate reactions are to instantly discount racism, but it's a real thing. I think deep down(not so deep for some people, but no one here is blatantly racist) a lot of people liked the idea of a white American trash talker being the champ. I know most people don't care, but I know a lot of guys who were fans of Hughes went to Lesnar then Sonnen. Not really a coincidence.

I think really big fights like this are always polarizing. People who wanted Sonnen to win and put all of their souls into a victory for him now feel cheated, so they look for excuses. It's a weird thing about sports, people feel emotionally attached to the outcome of events. Personally, I mostly just watch it for entertainment value. I do care a bit, like I was worried after Silva got taken down, but if he lost the fight I really wouldn't have cared that much as long as it was a good fight.

Nobody is perfect. But if he's not the best ever, then who is? Every great fighter has had some embarrassing moments.

I think the bigger question, is why in the hell Sonnen thought throwing that spinning elbow was a good idea in the first place.

Thankyou. I won't even bother with Youtube today. I just remember how I felt with his comments which is the same reason I hope he grabs a hot toaster and jumps in the bath tub with it.

I promise you he was fighting a lot more than Silva and Brazillians. When I look at Sonnen I honestly see David Duke with a jockstrap and thats how I personally feel about it.

I find his presence highly offensive. I have literally written off any fighter to cosign with Sonnen this includes King Mo.

Riv knows he is on to something which is why he probalby created this thread. There is a reason why people are so polarized. Its the same reason why many people are so polarized with Obama. Take off the rose colored glasses SJ (it runs much deeper than skills and MMA)

I look at it all and see some of the same ole shit (just a diff smell).

2 Things here:

1. Last I checked, thug and gangster are absolutely not exclusive to the "black" race and to insinuate such is absolutely racist in and of itself.

2. I may be mistaken here, but wasn't Sonnen calling HIMSELF the thug and American Gangster from West Linn Oregon???

I am certain you are just trolling here but I'll bite because I cannot stand being labeled a racist.

Ben Henderson is in my top five favorite fighters. I don't see the color of someone's skin having any bearing on my opinion of someone as a human being. Racism is for the incompetent. Benson is a great athlete and role model. Anderson is a fake ass tool box who just so happens to be able to kick ass.
