| Forrest Griffin Tops UFC 148: Silva vs. Sonnen 2 Salaries Forrest Griffin Tops UFC 148: Silva vs. Sonnen 2 Salaries | MMAWeekly.com Quote:
UFC 148 may go down as one of the biggest cards of 2012 and the salaries for the mega-event certainly reflect that as well.
The Nevada State Athletic Commission released the salary information for the fighter at UFC 148 on Monday with co-main event fighter Forrest Griffin raking in the biggest payday.
Griffin topped the list with a $275,000 paycheck while his opponent Tito Ortiz, who retired following UFC 148, came in with a $250,000 payday.
UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva came in just behind that with a $200,000 payday.
Just a reminder that these figures do not reflect unreported post fight bonuses or pay-per-view bonuses that some fighters earn

That's what happens when you play the role of the company man to a T.

I sure hope Chael gets PPV cuts cuz for the work he puts in in promoting and hyping this fight was worth much more than 50 grand.

Forrest may be overpaid but what Cung Le gets is ridiculous. There has to be a lot of pissed off fighters who see that.

How is Anderson Silva only making 200K? Hell I even bought this PPV! Me! I never fucking buy PPVs! How did he only get paid 200K? He must be making more from this somewhere, that can't be the final figure......no fucking way.....

Makes no sense at all.
The "Best MMA fighter in history" as Dana calls him makes 200,000.
Forrest Griffin that is nobody really special gets much more money. Cung Le who is not a Top 5 fighter or anything like that gets paid a lot.

Le's salary is due to what SF/Showtime was paying him. I guess he maintains the same salary. Plus, Cung Le is a good commodity to have because he can garner attention in the Asian markets such as China, Japan, and Philipines if they every go there.
