The article should really read, "you won't unionize so we will whine bitch badger and bully until you validate us with a public apology or we loose our breathe and go away."
No, the military never banned gays. There have been plenty who have served.
Uhhh. What as "dont ask don't tell"? And what would happen if you told?

Then that would be taking away something that myself and thousands of others like myself that love mma and don't have the financial means to travel to another state to watch an event. I live in Rochester, NY and I would love to be able to go to a show, but with raising a 5 yr old, a teenager and having a girlfriend with MS, its pretty much impossible for us to buy tickets, hotel, travel and other expenses to go out of state.
To bad we can't get rid of the politions and the union.
Move. lol

"Don't ask, don't tell" (DADT) was the official United States policy on homosexuals serving in the military from December 21, 1993 to September 20, 2011. The policy prohibited military personnel from discriminating against or harassing closeted homosexual or bisexual service members or applicants, while barring openly gay, lesbian, or bisexual persons from military service.

I wish that Dana would just do a press conference and say "you know what, we really don't need new york. Fuckem. UFC has now banned new york and joined the cause for not legalizing mma in that state. NY is not worthy of mma."
I can honestly say that If I knew a place I was going to eat or stay had members of the culinary union there, I would go somewhere else. Maybe its time for zuffa to stop hosting events at locations that employ them as well.
I wonder if the general membership understands how much money that union is spending to slag the ufc? As a dues paying member of a union for more then a decade now, If I found out they were spending my dues on shit like this, I would insist my dues were donated to a charitable org.

Almost everyone I know that has served [40's - present] has some type of experience serving with someone who was/is gay. I served with a couple of gays and a bi guy. For the majority of people there wasn't an issue unless there was an issue. Most everyone knew who's who and there wasn't much chaos about the situation.
The don't ask don't tell policy means what it says. Don't tell the recruiter and all is usually good. I've seen many gi's live amongst each other all with diverse backgrounds and life styles. Straight or gay was the least of problems people had with each other. Bad policy doesn't fix a perceived problem.
"I don't call the fighting in my films 'violent', I call it 'action'. An action film borders between fantasy and reality. If I were to be completely realistic in my films, you would call me a violent, bloody man. I would simply destroy my opponent by tearing his guts out. I wouldn't do it so artistically." ~Bruce Lee
