| Carwin warns 'jester' Roy Nelson The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 16 'is not a joke for me' Carwin warns 'jester' Roy Nelson The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 16 'is not a joke for me' Quote:
When The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) returns to FX in September, it will do so with heavyweight hopefuls Shane Carwin and Roy Nelson as coaches of two respective teams competing for a contract with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
And "The Engineer" is taking his new job seriously. From his blog: Quote: |
This will be the first time in my adult life that I wont be working. I will just be focusing on developing a team to win the show and focusing on preparing to knock Roy Nelson out. That is my new job and my new passion. I know Roy likes to be the UFC's Jester but he better know this is not a joke for me. He can keep striving for being average, I am pushing myself and those around me to find the American Dream. The dream that comes from lots of hard work and sacrifice, no gimmicks necessary.

Carwin is still one of my favorites and I hope that one day he can get the HW title.

Roy is the only reason I would even consider watching TUF in September. I'm picking him in the fight as well.

I really hope Carwin can get back to it i loved watching him put heavy hands on ppl. But back to back losses and only 2 fights in a couple years it looks like his age might be catching up to him a little bit with the injuries. Don't think I'll be watching much of the TUF series tho.

37 years old, major back surgery and an absolutely brutal last performance.
He should take this seriously but to question Roy's commitment to excellence is absurd. The guys fought anyone and everyone and stayed tough every time.

I've got Roy completing the sweep of winning the fight, winning more of the first round of fights, having his fighter win the competition and him winning the coaches challenge. Roy knows how to gameplan for this fights. His BJJ expertise will benefit his team a ton. Roy also has a better gastank and I'm confident he can withstand Carwin's power. I'm also going to give Roy the edge in scouting and picking fighters as I think he's had more exposure to up and coming fighters.

Sounds to me like he's underestimating Roy Nelson.....that's just not smart.
