show me where I said he brought his "A" game. Unlike you, I realize the world isn't black and white. I don't live in a world of absolutes.
What I said was that the win wasn't the result of a horrible performance by Munoz, and that it certainly wasn't the worst fight of his life. I said the win should be credited to Weidman for being that much better. He's always been quicker and more explosive than Munoz, and it showed.

Keep telling yourself that was all Weidman. Munoz looked like shit against Weidman... period

Keep telling yourself that Weidman isn't any good, and that he only looks good against weak opponents. That way when he beats Anderson, you can somehow try to convince yourself that Silva lost to a weak fighter.
Actually, that's what you'd do anyway, so it's a moot point. In your fantasy world, poor Anderson will have had a hangnail, or a toothache, or a shattered femur going into the bout or something, and bravely fought through it, against doctor's orders.

I got it, I just couldn't format the post the way I wanted to, and wanted to leave it in for context.
But any champion who tries to pick fights does not have a champion's heart, regardless of what they do in the cage.

Weidman is the most deserving at this point. It all depends on when Anderson wants to fight next, weather another fight will need to happen... |
I'd be stupid to believe anything dana says, but he indicated Anderson wants to get right back in...so if it's one of the times dana isn't full of shit, we could see it by the fall.
I think it would play into his favor, actually. If he's healthy--and he didn't seem to take any damage at all in the sonnen bout--I'd advise him to face Weidman sooner rather than later. The kid is a dangerous matchup for him stylistically, and more experience is only going to narrow the gap in their skillsets.
In my opinion, it would do a
lot for his image to ask for the fight to happen November-ish...
