"I dislocated my left and right shoulder and the right clavicle. It's painful. In training camp I had good partners, they pushed me a lot, even with my injuries. They were not nice. Sometimes you have to do things like this to become the best."
Hear Kongo (via MMA Heat) get into more detail regarding his shoulder injury as well as his performance against Jordan...
The worst thing about this fight, was that even though Kongo had opportunities to take Jordan's back 5 times throughout the fight. He had abolutely no fucking clue what to do with it. That was just pathetic.

Kongo's never gonna be a wrestler or a BJJ guy, but his counter wrestling has become impressive. Compared to where he was when he entered the UFC and where he is now. Now as for his "injuries", IDK I'd give him the benifit of the doubt, he hasn't really played this card before that I know of. And i did find it strange how he punch clinched in the 3rd every time they separated. So maybe he's telling the truth and could not punch with the extension he normally has. IDK, it was a terrible fight nontheless. I think another fight like that and win or lose check might get cut.

If I were to be completely realistic in my films, you would call me a violent, bloody man. I would simply destroy my opponent by tearing his guts out. I wouldn't do it so artistically." ~Bruce Lee
The guy apparently dislocated both shoulders and his clavicle?
Of course he didn't do certain things he should of when he had somebodies back because he probably thought in the back of his mind
"hmm my arms could fall out their sockets if I pick up this dude, or do this"
When shoulders dislocate they can become a permanent injury VERY easily. Nobody here dislocated there shoulder to be able to testify this?
And I think the insurance bill that Dana is told about will tell him if Kongo really was fighting with 2 previously dislocated shoulders. If he did then I hope he doesn't get cut for something like that, as that's just a kick in the teeth not to honour your fighter who didn't bail out of your event.

Sometimes it hurts to give people credit... but, you're right about Kongo. He has shown improvement in his anti-grappling and takedown defense. I don't think we'll ever see him trying to change his game to looking for the subs, but he's working on his weak points.

If he had this injury recently, went through camp, and fought, he deserves some props. I don't know his situation though my shoulder took time to heal and the wrong movement would shift my shoulder and misalign. I still have issues with my shoulders, work them out to keep them strong, and they get burned out quicker than I believe they should when working a lot of punches.
While I'm not a fan of the guy I think Kongo is good for the division because of his attributes.
