| UFC 150 Henderson v Edgar II August 11, 2012
Ladies & Gents one of the best fights of last year will have another go next Saturday so I ask who do you have & even better what do you think of the overall card?
I for one think this card will be damn good, the headliner which is guaranteed fireworks (Bendo v Edgar).
-You have Bendo looking to cement himself as the best in the division his win was legit & Edgar looking to prove he doesn't need to drop down a class & more so the loss was a fluke.
-Cerrone v Guillard has potential to be fight of the night & that is saying something considering I believe Bendo v Edgar may put on fight of the year.
-Shields v Herman is interesting (could be boring but I doubt it)
-Okami v Palhares looks like it will be very nice.
The whole card looks to be pretty fast pace & exciting night of fights...thoughts?
Lightweight Benson Henderson (c) vs Frankie Edgar
Lightweight Donald Cerrone vs Melvin Guillard
Middleweight Jake Shields vs Ed Herman
Middleweight Yushin Okami vs Rousimar Palhares
Middleweight Chris Camozzi vs Buddy Roberts
Preliminary Card (FX)
Middleweight Jared Hamman vs Michael Kuiper
Featherweight Nik Lentz vs Eiji Mitsuoka
Featherweight Justin Lawrence vs Max Holloway
Featherweight Dennis Bermudez vs Tommy Hayden

i dig how both the main event and co-main are both lightweight battles.
i got bendo retaining the strap. i still dont see how people could think he won the first fight, but he still warranted a rematch regardless. i dont see benson finishing frankie, but i see him dominating this fight moreso than the first one, leaving no absolutely no doubt that he's the number one lightweight in the world.
while the winner of cowboy and guillard wont get a title shot, it's still a very important fight at 155. if cowboy wins, i would love to see him and pettis fight for number one contendership. hell if guillard wins, a fight between him and pettis wouldnt be bad either although a shot at the strap wouldnt likely be at stake.

-Agreed completely, I think Bendo completely takes this fight w/a vengence. I believe this fight goes down similar to Bendo v Jim Miller in that he brutalizes Edgar.
-Cerrone v Guillard , agreed as well damn good fight & if Cerrone wins he could be back on track for title shot.
& just in general this card seems like it could be one of the best this year.

This is a hard fight to pick. Frankie would have been up 2-0 after the first 2 rounds if it wasn't for that up kick, so maybe if he looks to take Bendo down/grapple even a little more in those early rounds in the rematch and fights a little more carefully, he can safely retain the first 2 rounds this time...then open up a little bit more in the final 3 rounds.
But Bendo knows that Frankie taking him down was an important part of his gameplan in their first fight, and as strong and big as he is, if he's working hard to avoid the takedown in training camp, it could be really hard for Frankie to get him down...so if Frankie can't get those takedowns to keep Ben a bit off balance and to kill a little time/get a breather when he needs to, it could be tough for him. Bendo's strikes on the feet certainly seemed more devastating in their first fight.
Ya also gotta look at the fact that Frankie has been getting hurt so much early lately in his fights, and Bendo isn't someone who will gas or slow down after 1 round like Maynard. He can fight really hard the entire fight.
I guess I gotta pick Henderson in another close fight, even though I want to pick Frankie...but Nate will take the belt from Bendo |

I do believe on the feet Nate has the advantage vs Bendo but I honestly do not believe he can beat Bendo in a 5 round fight. I think cardio, take downs & the ground & pound will win Bendo a fight vs Nate via decision.

Cuz I used to be a big BJ Penn fan and never got over the losses. I just love how psychotic BJ Penn seems to be at times while others he is laid back as fuck.
Frankie Edgar seems like the guy to cheer for since he is tiny and a perpetual underdog.... but I can't do it. |

Bendo is way bigger and stronger than Edgar, he will beat him again, and Frankie will get really hurt.
Cerrone vs Guillard, Cerrone will submit him in the second round I think.
Okami vs Palhares is not that easy to predict, but I think Palhares wins by Dec.
Shields vs Herman, I think Shields win but I have the feeling it will be a very boring fight.
I do not care about the rest.
I disagree that it will be one of the best cards of the year, of course it looks better than UFC 149 but we have had much better cards than this one.
