My big thing about all of this was... why does Sylvia deserve a shot at Cormier? I get he is a two time UFC champion but at the moment the guy is not even a Top 20 maybe even Top 30 HW. And someone, somewhere thought it was a good idea to put him in there with a guy who is a legit Top 5, arguably the number 3 HW on the planet right now? Whoever thought that and started to get it into motion should be fired.

I doubt we will see Tim ever again in the UFC but honestly does anyone care? The guy would get blasted by 80% of the HWs on the roster right now.

Did everyone forget Sylvia got KTFO by Abe Wagner last year? So not only has he not beaten anyone close to UFC caliber, but he has a recent loss to a 10-6 journeyman that was bad on TUF.

I would love seeing Tim back in the UFC just based off his name, wouldn't mind seeing him fight Struve. I think he would have been a good name to have on Daniel's record also, but for Daniels level of talent, having him fight Tim is an insult. Having him fight Tim doesn't put him anywhere closer to a title shot and it really doesn't put him any higher on the rankings.

If you take out Barnett and Bigfoot, Sylvia would be the best guy Cormier has faced. It wouldn't be such a stretch, and it would be marketable in that "odd strikeforce keth jardine fighting for a title because he used to be in the UFC" kinda way.
