Antonio Rogerio Nogueira Willing To Coach TUF: Brazil Vs. Shogun

Quote:
Nogueira, the "little" brother of Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, told the Brazilian news outlet Tatame recently that it would be "a dream" to coach TUF vs. Rua.

"I would love to, it'd be awesome," Nogueira said. "It would be very good to me and it would be a rematch of (a) 2005 fight, which is something people wanna see."

Rua earned the win in that meeting during the Pride Grand Prix tournament. "Big Nog" was a coach on TUF vs. Frank Mir.

ouch, is dana hinting that shogun is only do "interesting" fights now?

overall, i'm interested in the fight but not really in the show. shogun's training intensity is suspect. and while diet nog can bring in some great coaches, he's not exactly mr personality.

i still wish they would do a season which revolved around training and diet - that stuff is so popular in the mainstream now, i think you'd get a tough of new viewers to hear a dolce or similar pontificating to the team

I think Little Nog would be an interesting fight, his standup isn't a joke, he's a beast on the ground (unless you're gonna hold him down). I think his boxing is more technical and he has a good chin, just like his brother. Shogun is a winnable fight for him and Little Nog is a losable fight for Shogun. It would be a great war. Of course Shogun cold consider 185 and fighting for the title........

It would be a good fight, Their first fight was a great...

Machida vs. Shogun TUF Brazil made a lot more sense... but now that Machida looks to be getting another title shot. They need something for Shogun... Why not?

Nog has better boxing than Shogun, but I dont see him as having the speed or power to really exploit Shogun. Ill take Shogun most likely by UD or TKO... Depending on which Shogun shows up and how long the fight is..(3 or 5 round)

Maybe give the winner a rematch with Hendo... A fight they have both been looking for, but Dan wouldnt take.

i hate to say it but: if shogun starts to gas, nog will throw body shots until the cows come home and take it. perhaps even by tko.
shogun has heart and an iron chin, but being gassed and eating body shots is something else altogether.

Shogun's cardio woes are overstated. Most of the fights where he gasses, his opponent is just as gassed as he is, leading me to believe that his cardio issues are a direct result of his aggressive fighting style.

When he fought like Machida, against Machida, for 5 rounds he didn't gas and actually looked fresher than Machida did. So I do believe that Shogun trains hard and is in good shape, it's just that he throws 100 percent power shots that drain his energy quickly.

In the first fight Rogerio had the upper hand early, and dropped Shogun with a hook (I'm thinking a right hook) but Shogun came back and outlasted Rogerio. He won the decision mainly from Rogerio's guard, as it's pretty difficult to beat him any other way. One of the best fights ever as I remember it
