How is this a ground breaking deal?
Didnt Anderson sign a deal with Nike earlier this year / last year. Quote:

I accept mistakes in peoples lives but I think you are making Jones sound like the victim here. Quote: |

| I dont think it was personal issues or struggles which lead to Jones DUI. Jones is on top of the world in his sport right now and consistently speaks about being a role model for children.
Yes the man should be forgiven but it should not be forgotten or his actions excused away. Jones is a grown ass man who made the choices with his own free will.

But you'll start seeing Bones commercials in the states and the rest of the world as well. Lot more pressure on him to beat Hendo and Machida now...

I am more so pointing out my issue with a statement like what's the big deal nobody got hurt. Here's one more relatable to this incident. What if it was your daughter in the car with him. Even if she came out without a scratch just look at that car and tell me you would be ok with it just because she didn't get killed.

I think this is good for Jone's & even better for MMA in general. It is about time that Nike get on board & as well Burger King & many other huge sponsors. This can be the boost that the sport needs to take it to the next level.

This would be easier to swallow if Jones had an ounce of remorse. His only regret about the situation was the embarrassment of getting caught and the forced half apology he had to make. If Ray Lewis can get endorsements there are no boundaries. This is simply where society is heading. Athletes and entertainers are held in high regard because they can sell products. The world is going to morph into the movie Idiocracy.

Cat and disposable, I wasn't making him a victim at all, I was just saying that the guy saying that they get no sympathy from him is kindve rediculous. Then again, I could have misunderstood his comment because I read it as though he meant from then on he doesn't give two shits about the person. He deserves whatever punishment they dish out for his crime, but to label him as a demon not worth saving is way too extreem.
Anyways, getting a DUI and hitting somebody are two very different things. You can't be punished for something you "could" have done, and it was his first offense. If it was his seccond offense, then yea he should get a much stiffer punishment and I would loose allot of respect for him. But if he never does it again and leans his lesson from this time, then I see no reason to hold it against him.

I just think you cannot take a DUI incident lightly. I think Jon will learn from his mistake and I never want to demonize him personally. Seeing how much damage he did to his car though made me think that himself and everyone around him were damn lucky. He is not a villain he just made a mistake. We all make mistakes. It's just that this mistake commonly costs innocent lives.
