It's just that this mistake commonly costs innocent lives. | Jones wasn't very contrite nor was he earnest with his apology. Regardless of how many people here take the incident lightly, the only thing that matters is that Jones seemed to take it lightly. He hasn't received any substantial discipline and has been rewarded with this contract. I don't see anything teachable in this scenario for a guy who already looked at his DUI as an annoyance.

Way to take the high ground cat...
How many DUI's does Leban have now?
Leban probably has more DUI's on his record than Tito has injuries...

Even if she came out without a scratch just look at that car and tell me you would be ok with it just because she didn't get killed. | That picture of "a" Bentley is not Jon's after his crash. Jon's hardly had any damage, the pole he hit was more fucked up than the car. Not trying to lighten the dui situation, but that just dui it pic is misleading.

Was Leben ever drunk enough to crash into a pole? Don't think so.
Jones was obviously drunk enough to not be able to drive in a straight line.

My simple thing forgive for the first time. He does it again then crucify him. I'm not saying DUI is not wrong or that I am an advocate for video game driving (trying to keep the car between the lines) but understand that most have done it once or twice before when we were younger but we've grown up....... well most of us. I am not mentioning any names. The guy's a kid and still has a lot of growing up to do.

Leban probably has more DUI's on his record than Tito has injuries... | Yup, I am sure he does have a few... But, has Leben ever said he was a great role model for youth?
Leben has admitted he has problems and has repeatedly apologized... And no he did not start out his apology letter with ... "Dear Haters,"
Have you ever seen me on these forums stick up for Leben's dumb ass actions (eg. getting busted for DUI)?
On another note... Looks like Jones ground breaking deal is ground breaking because he traded the sponsorship for peanuts (according to Helwani): Helwani: I heard Jones deal with Nike is worth $20k per year Quote:
On this week's The MMA Hour, Ariel Helwani reported an utterly baffling figure about Jon Jones' deal with Nike. According to Helwani's source, Jones is not getting Anderson Silva money from Nike, he's getting McDonald's money - not sponsorship from McDonalds, but burger flipping at McDonalds money.
"Congratulations to Jon Jones for signing that big deal with Nike," said Helwani. "According to Dana White he will be dressed in Nike from head to toe. Come September 1st, he will be wearing Nike, inside the Octagon...
"He is not the first guy, to have the swoosh on him in a fight of course. Anderson Silva was representing Nike when he fought Chael Sonnen. But this is a different kind of deal.
"This is a global deal. This is the first North American fighter to be sponsored by Nike
terms of the deal haven't been disclosed just yet
"What I heard from one source, just one, was that it was a one year deal worth $20,000. That's what I heard, but I have not been able to confirm that with multiple sources. One source very close to Jon, by the way, I should say. It's not like it's just source your know out of the blue."

weird... i wonder if that's part of why he's ufc sponsored as well. maybe the ufc is covering the difference to give nike a taste and help build the industry?
