There just is not a deep enough talent pool in women's MMA right now for the UFC to carry it along. Right now Womens MMA is what Mens MMA was back in 1998. Rousey right now is considered the best female fighter on the plant and she really has a fairly limited skill set. So until women's MMA starts to evolve and get a deeper talent pool I think the UFC would be wise to not waste their time on it. Just keep in Strikeforce.

For the most part people will not care. But what is the UFC going to do? Have a division with only 6 fighters? At what point does that make any sense at all.

Personally I would rather the UFC save the money they would spend on Rousey and Cyborg and have them sign Alaverz and Askren.

And if women's boxing, WNBA and so on have showed anything its the fact men really do not give a shit about women's sports. It does not matter how hot they are, men will not keep paying attention if the level of play in the sport is sub par.
