| Bruce Lee
Honestly, does anyone think that he can stand in the world of MMA today? I personaly think that he can , he made his style of fighting JetKun Do, spell check. An adaptable fighting style , to boxing, karate, wrestling , and grappling. I want good opinions. As to the 16 year old Playa Hater of The Year. U probably dont know who Bruce Lee is..Ha Ha Ha Lol. I wasnt sure where to put this thread .

| I don't think he could..
Sure he's a legend. But much of that is from his movies.....
Did he ever get in some real fights? Of course....
But did he ever have a MMA type grab him and pound on him? I think he'd be just like any other one dimesional fighter...
It's great to be able to strike, but "street fighting" ground and pound styles would break him down quickly.

| When it comes to Bruce Lee he was an individual that understood the science of real fighting. That is why he decided to invent his own style of fighting because "Wing Chun" Kung Fu was a purely striking type of fighting style. There was no method into any type of ground tactics such as grappling, ground and pound, or submissions. I really think his mentality was ahead of his time because he understood that all those flashy moves wont help you when there is a guy in a full mount beating the crap out of you. So to cut to the chase I say yes he would do rather well in the world of MMA. |

He'd get thumped....

looking at bruce lee's ability to adapt and change, given that he was in his prime. Im gonna have to say yeah he could, dependent on the organization which he fought for. personally I would favor him in the ufc, with the shorter rounds. I dont see him being able to hang with the guys in pride, just due to the round factor. But yeah I think he would be able to preform pretty well, given he was in his prime. Oh and bout the 16 yr ol playa hata thing lol, hell man I wish I fit in that catagory this year makes it 14 years ago I would be that age lol

bruce lee was really fast and may have been able to be the low level nobody's ,but I doubt he could contend against any of the top guys. What weight class would Bruce be in.

It depends entirely on certain things.
He was mainly a striker, but he did read books from every fighting disciplines he could find and went to take private lessons from masters of other styles also. If you read some of his biographies they'll mention how he has trained in boxing, wrestling, jiu-jitsu (doesn't ever say BJJ), kung fu, karate, and many others. He was trying to grab a little something from everything and implement it into Jeet Kun Do, which is similar to MMA because it was basicly just to do what worked and where. I'm sure this Bruce Lee never got the chance to train things like TD defense and GnP since he probably never faced guys that gave him a chance to test those things. So the Bruce Lee that did exist probably wouldn't be able to beat the best.
But, if that Bruce Lee was willing to learn from so many disciplines, I'm sure he'd do what he had to to be the best. If he trained in MMA like most of the best do today, I'm sure he'd probably have a good chance of being at the top of his weightclass because he never felt his skills were adequate and he seemed to have a lot of determination. Would he had been? We'll never know since he has never competed in an MMA match. Maybe he didn't have a great fighting mind, maybe he had a glass chin, or maybe he had no heart. The truth is we'll never know, so it's all speculation.
I use to think Bruce Lee was a one-dimensional Kung Fu guy also, but when I read some of his biographies I learned that he was really ahead of his time with Jeet Kun Do. Anyone who thinks that he was a one-dimensional fighter should really check out some of his biographies, you'd be surprised at some of the things he said and believed.
