Especially when you consider that if Cerrone somehow gets past Pettis, he may have gotten a title shot in a deeper, more competative division by beating only one contender who isn't top 5.

Or that there are fans who think if Anderson could somehow make 170--which is an unintentionally hilarious IQ test in and of itself--that he should get an immediate title shot at Georges simply by making weight. Because he's Anderson Silva.

I really, really want Cormier to KO Mir.

A Cormier win over Mir, coupled with his last 3 wins(Barnett, Bigfoot and Monson) gives him the nudge ahead of Werdum's 5 wins in his last 6(beating Fedor, Bigfoot, Nelson, Kyle and Russow) when it comes to next dibs IMO.

That said, I somewhat think that a JDS/Werdum II could be a major selling point given that JDS's UFC journey started by putting down Werdum and Werdum's path since the JDS loss has included one of the greatest wins in MMA history over Fedor and his visibly advanced striking and physical development.

I also wonder if the UFC may want to give Cormier a warm up fight in the UFC, just in case they feel he doesn't have enough exposure to main event a UFC PPV card. However, they can sell the JDS fight as a clash against the SF HWGP champion who is undefeated and trying to avenge his AKA teammate's losses(that is, if Cain loses again)....

Endgame, I think both make a stronger argument than Overeem, whose record is dubiously padded at best.

If AO is ready and DC has beaten Mir by the time the JDS/Cain rematch happens. The UFC will have the good problem of having 2 very solid contenders for the title... Much less at HW... That is a good sign... Also with Werdum looking good.... some good up and comers... The HW division is looking good...

If Dan wins... He will have beaten Monson, Bigfoot, Barnett, and Mir in a row... that is impressive... He is more than deserving... But will he get the shot before AO, if Alistar is good to go. You also have think about how the UFC will see it. They know that AO has better selling potential...

Why not get DC some more exposure against a HW like say Nog or Werdum... even on the same card as JDS/AO.

RD... DC wants noting to do with Jones. I always get a laugh when I see people say that Jones wouldnt be able to deal with DC's size... The guy has a good bit of fat on him, if he was cut like Jones, he would barley have any weight on him...

Jones would also have a 6 inches of height and 13.5 inches of reach on DC...
Dc has beaten bigger guys then Jones. I don't see why he wouldn't want that fight, his striking is really good and his wrestling is insane.
