| UFC vet James McSweeney stops armed robbery in Vegas UFC vet James McSweeney stops armed robbery in Vegas Quote:
Former UFC fighter (and current UGer) James McSweeney walked into a robbery in progress at the ABC on Fremont Street in Las Vegas last night.
One assailant was holding the clerk at knife point, with a second on lookout.
McSweeney grabbed the man's wrist and shoulder, and swept him face first to the floor stunning him. The other robber bolted for the door.
The robber was just beginning to recover when the police arrived.
Further details will be provided as they become available.
The London, England born McSweeny moved to Thailand to train full time in Muay Thai at age 15. He went on to win numerous titles.
In 2006, he transitioned to mixed martial arts, initially moving in with Rashad Evans. He moved from Jackson's MMA in Albuquerque, NM in Grudge Training Centre in Denver, CO.
He was a cast member of Spike TV's The Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights, where he beat Wes Shivers and Matthew Mitrione, before losing to Roy Nelson. At the The Ultimate Fighter Heavyweights Finale he defeated Darrill Schoonover.
He then went 0-2 in the UFC, losing to Travis Browne and Fabio Maldonado, and was released by the organization.
McSweeney now runs his own Sledgehammer MMA in Ramsgate, Kent, UK.

What an animal. Ultimate Fighting should be banned. It's too brutal. Bloodsport and shit.

Good for James!
