A debut date and opponent are expected to be determined shortly, the fighter's reps confirmed.
The 28-year-old Harris joins the UFC's newest division, which was launched earlier this year. The 125-pound weight class soon will have a champion when Joseph Benavidez and Demetrious Johnson meet for the inaugural flyweight championship. The bout is the finale of a four-man tournament that launched in March.
Harris, who fights out of GYM 01 in Portsmouth, England, brings a solid resume to the division. Undefeated at flyweight, he's currently riding a five-win streak that includes recent victories in the U.K.-based BAMMA and Cage Warriors organizations.
In 21 career wins, the nine-year pro has posted 13 submissions and four knockouts. Most recently, Harris scored a decision victory over "The Ultimate Fighter 14" contestant Casey Dyer at Cage Warriors Fight Night 4 in March.
Harris is widely considered Europe's top flyweight.
I don't really know anything about this guy but it's good to see them getting more fighters at 125. This should add a little more depth to the division. I always root for the UK guys. I'd like England to get a better representative than Michael Spitsbing
