I think out of the three GSP would give Anderson the most problems. His Jab is world class and his Take Downs are almost Olympic Level. But his mental strength and Planning are his biggest assets. He doesn't talk a lot of smack, probably the nicest guy in MMA, but he executes game plans with precision. I think a fight between these two at 178 or 180 would be ideal. If Anderson Loses, he probably retires or begins the process toward it anyway.

I voted for gsp.
If it's his last fight why not make it a superfight with another p4p greatest? Lately, gsp's been talking about fighting silva so why not make the fight.

The issue is that most people don't understand even a rudimentary concept of p4p. When GSP beat Penn--and Penn was still widely considered top 3 p4p--it should have done nothing to cement him as p4p. If Penn had beaten Georges, it would have been HUGE. By the same token, if Anderson beats GSP, it does nothing for his p4p status: a bigger fighter is always supposed to beat a smaller fighter if their skills are equal. But if Georges were to beat Anderson, it would have a huge impact. If Anderson were to face Jones and win, that would be a great illustration of his p4p status. Quote:

| I know Silva doesn't like fighting anyone who might actually beat him or challenge him, but GSP? Is this a joke??? There is no way I would pay to see this.
Beating up the 5-10 , 190 lbs GSP doesn't add much to his resume. GSP has had enough problems with people at WW. If he can't finish Hardy, there is no way in hell he is going to finish Silva.
He should move up and fight Jones. Silva's resume is pretty thin for the number of fights he has had and to be considered p4p champion/goat is a joke. A lot of hand picked opponents. If he is too scared to fight Jones, at least fight Rashad or Shogun.

I chose GSP. If it is his last fight ever then I think the spectacle of GSP vs Silva to declare a P4P champ would be great. That way Weidman could go ahead and fight whoever for the MW belt assuming Anderson concedes it..
To the follow up question. I have already said I chose this for the spectacle, even though I think GSP could win. I would have AS as a favorite, maybe like -220. GSP could grind on him and force him to tire.
I think Weidman has more of a shot at beating Anderson, but if it is his farewell fight then he is not going to get.

| Force him to tire? He didn't look to tired at the end of the 5th against Sonnen despite his broken ribs.
If this fight happends, I would happily give you those odds as long as you are putting money on GSP.

Given the poll, it looks like all the GSP talk by the Silva camp has worked and distracted people from talking about the only real interesting fight, Silva-Jones.
Jones doesn't want to fight Machida because he says it is not a good money fight.
Silva's camp keeps saying they don't want to fight a bunch of fighters because they are not worthy of a title shot
Well.... this fight would meet both fighters criteria.

I think GSP would try to pass. Half guard or side control would put more chest to chest pressure and tire him out, IMO in this make believe scenario.
Depending how GSP looks in November I might put money on him at +250 or so.
