Mark Hominick Knows His Career Is On The Line At UFC 154

Quote:
"There is no question, I have to get back on the winning track," said Hominick. "I have to prove why I still feel I'm one of the best in the division. I'm going back to where it all began. "Now it's time to kind of begin my career again."

Hominick's losing streak began when José Aldo (21-1) defeated him in the inaugural UFC Featherweight Championship fight. The match was followed by defeats to Jung Chan-Sung (13-3) and Eddie Yagin (16-5-1).

"In the last two fights I was so focused on winning," said Hominick. "I had to re-evaluate and figure out why I was getting the short end of the stick."

Pablo Garza (11-3), who is also on a two fight losing streak for the UFC, will challenge Hominick next.

"I'm motivated to carry on this legacy," said Hominick. "The way I do that is to go out there and win. That's the main thing, going out there and making my statements in the ring."

I hate to see this. Hominick is one of my favourite featherweights and I still think he beat Yagin. I'd hate to see him go out like this. Not too worried though. I'm sure he'll take this one with a KO.

i thought he won against yagin too. that was a great fight. if he loses to garza, i think mark should take some time off and reevaluate things.. with tompkins just passing recently and mark getting married and having a baby, he definitely deserves it.

I also thought he beat Yagin. Got knocked down a couple times early but took over the fight from the middle point on imo. He should own Garza. I sense some brutal body/head punch combinations coming Garza's way...
