Fittingly enough, it appears Thomson will in fact face “The Future” in his next fight, as the former divisional champion revealed over the weekend he had agreed to face Caros Fodor on September 29 at Strikeforce: Melendez vs. Healy.

Thomson announced the bout during a recent interview with Sherdog.

“The Punk” is coming off a Split Decision loss to title-holder Gilbert Melendez despite many fans feeling as though he’d won the match-up. He holds an overall record of 19-5 including thirteen stoppages and past success against the likes of Melendez, K.J. Noons, Duane Ludwig, Nam Phan, and Gesias Cavalcante.
