Just re-watched the fight; I forgot that there was the initial knockdown before the knockout. While I still think Forrest was legitimately TKO'd (and probably still rattled from the last shot), I see what you mean. He definitely looked like he didn't want to be in there. And, f-, I miss that aggressive Anderson Silva...

I doubt it. He will likely look to get a UD based on a stick and move gameplan. He will not be too aggressive with shogun.

It all depends on which shogun shows up. He didnt look very good in his last 2 fights... He needs to employ a lot of leg kicks in this fight... We need to see the shogun from the 1st Machida fight.

This is a 3 rounder right? We also need to consider that.

A thing people often forget is that "the punch you dont see coming often does the most damage"

If you see big shots coming you can often absorb them, but if you are caught by one you dont see it can be hard to recover from.

Anderson has never thrown with power of someone like Hendo or Rampage. but his speed and accuracy is far more dangerous.

If that happens, I could see him getting a shot, but I just don't see him finishing Shogun. I don't know that I'd award him a shot if he plays a points game.

Conversely, if Shogun wins, I think that's enough to earn a rematch.

that's what I've always thought as well. I think Forrest knew how the fight was going to end, even if it wasn't enough to end it right then, and so why bother getting back up?

Never has the cliche "X took Y's soul in the fight" been more accurate in my opinion. I've always thought Forrest's self-deprecating humor was based on actual insecurities he had, and it seems to me that the Silva fight confirmed some of his worst fears about himself - that he actually wasn't ever that good. And if he never was that good, does that mean he got lucky beating Shogun and Rampage? Do his proudest achievements had an asterisk beside them?

Amateur-hour psychobabble aside, what is undeniable is that Silva brutally exposed Griffin's inadequacies as a fighter in humiliating fashion in front on millions of people. I don't believe he's been the same fighter since that dy because he lost his self belief. Poor bastard, Silva can make any world class fighter look average when he puts his mind to it.
