No they need to do this and do it now while there is still time. There will always be a number 1 contender in either division. | no with what I remember theres this guy with a big mouth and a bald head that said these super fights would not happen unless these fighters cleared their divisions. And how is the time now? GSP is coming off a freaking knee surgery. He's not prime for a fight like that right at this moment anyways. He needs to be able to explode into take downs and he hasn't even tested it. So I say a fight or two then yea go ahead with it.

Welllll ......., Silva's doesn't want a fight with Weidman Or Boetsch or everyone else out there because nobody is a big money fight except maybe Bisping.
And after Condit, who's next for GSP? Kampman, Hendricks? He'd run right throught those guys.
So the only logical choice is do the superfight, now while there's still time. Before Silva retires or gets too old, or GSP blows a knee or something again.
It was almost the time to do it before, until Chael fought Silva. He took away his invincibility, made him look human and like he could be defeated. And around the same time Shields stood with GSP and almost poked his eye out.
The two big champs/names almost lost, so why not do it now before they actually do and it would never happen? I remember thinking when Sonnen was pounding Silva "this is the end of the GSP/Silva talk, GSP is the top of the p4p now" before Jones was even talked about.
All I'm saying, is NOW or NEVER

great, so we get two divisions in limbo while the champions dont defend their titles.. All we need now is 6 more rematches at 155, and we're set.

NEVER would be the answer. This isn't a super fight. This is a 230 pounder fighting a 185 pounder. This is Silva trying to notch an easy win over a big name while he avoids legitimate challengers. This is a fight made entirely for monetary reasons and nothing else. If Silva is into legacy fights, then move up and fight Jones who's more of a physical match. Although that would not be a super fight for Jones in any manner.

What happend to what all the Silva nut huggers who were saying about how Silva doesn't want to fight outside his division because he needs to defend his belt?
But he is willing to fight GSP while people he has beat are fighting much stiffer competition???? Henderson fought Fedor and is going to fight Jones. Chael is calling out Jones.....And Silva wants to find challenges in lower weight divisions!!!!!
Watch out Ben Henderson, Silva might call you out next after he is done with GSP.
Not paying for this fight, not watching it, not putting money in Soares or Silva's pocket.

| UFC boss: Champs Anderson Silva and Georges St-Pierre both want super fight Quote:
"Chael (Sonnen) and all these other good wrestlers are able to get [Silva] down to the ground," White said Tuesday in a MetroPCS fan chat. "Georges St-Pierre will definitely take him down."
It's not that UFC President Dana White won't give St-Pierre credit for all that he's accomplished in the striking game. It's just that if he fights Silva, that's what's going to happen.
That's what has to happen. But what transpires from there – in the fight that's not confirmed but seems to be on the tip of every fan's tongue – does not bode well for St-Pierre, the way White sees it. Then again, it doesn't bode well for just about anyone who has the misfortune of being across the cage from Silva. Certainly not the middleweights who reside in the same division.
"It doesn't look like it," White said when asked if there are any current fighters in the 185-pound division to dethrone Silva. "The guy is so talented, I think he's the greatest of all-time, and he keeps proving it again and again."
So when it comes to St-Pierre, whose signature strength is putting opponents on their back, White seems to think that a long-running pound-for-pound debate will be settled with Silva on top, where he currently resides on most lists.
"Usually in the second round when [Silva] comes out, he makes sure he doesn't get taken down again," White said. "He usually lights guys up in the second round."
White, of course, has a recent example on his mind. The Sonnen he mentioned quickly took down Silva at UFC 148, just as he did when they first met at UFC 117. For the first five minutes, it looked like the much-publicized rib injury that Silva suffered in the initial meeting might be relegated to the same list of fictional fighter hurts as Tito Ortiz's cracked skull. But before the second round could end, Sonnen was in a heap in a corner of the cage, and Silva was still champ.
The reality is that a St-Pierre vs. Silva superfight, which has been talked about for no less than three years and put off for a myriad of reasons, could be closer than ever. If St-Pierre beats interim champ Carlos Condit at UFC 154, fewer obstacles than ever remain to the long-awaited meeting.
"That's the fight they both want," White said of the champions.
That's a reversal of earlier interviews in which St-Pierre did not seem anxious to take the superfight. (A welterweight or catchweight meeting that doesn't threaten his title undoubtedly sweetens things for the returning champ.)
But just as before, there are plenty of reasons the fight won't happen: injuries, layoffs, stipulations, money – all the usual things.
If it does happen, though, White said the best fighter in the world will be crowned. He's made his pick.
"There's been an argument for a long time, whether it was Georges or Anderson," he said. "So we'll find out."

So if Condit wins, does this mean that Silva will fight Condit?
