[Fedorlei Gomipierre]

Few too many asterisks for my liking to say GOAT, maybe I'm just too incredulous for my own good, but his latter years surge leaves me with too many questions.

Taken altogether: looking back at the "Decision Dan" era, the Anderson loss, the Nog Bros submissions, some razor thin wins and his current day gameplans(basically, go yard), I see too many negatives, and that's going before his Clemens-esque twilight dominance. I DO certainly think he's an "all-time great" with one of the most impressive resumes in MMA history, win or lose to Bones.... IMO, the column against his GOAT rating is too steep to ignore.

The problem with calling Hendo the G.O.A.T. is that he has lost too many KEY fights. Probably lost as many big ones as he has won.

That versus what guys like Fedor, GSP and Anderson have done makes it hard to give Hendo that title. Hendo has also always had glaring holes in his game that people have exposed a lot of times (cardio, submission defense, take down defense).

Is he one of the best fighters this sport has ever, and probably will ever, see? Absolutely.

Hypothetically speaking if he beats Jones, then does a Anderson rematch (at any weight) and he wins that.....Retire GOAT no debate in my opinion.

I say yes. Just because I love him and his trophy case is impressive....oh yeah and he won't beat jones anyway. So it's a moot point.

Honestly had he beat either Anderson or page then I could definitely give him top honors. Right now it's debatable. I guess IF he were to somehow beat bones it would be more the nature of his win that would be my deciding factor. We all know the way he would likely win would be him getting dominated and landing a miracle hail Mary h bomb. Then Jon would rematch him and get the belt back.

Edit: Just want to add that I already think he is and if/when he beats Jones it should just be more proof for everyone else.

I also find it funny that him beating Jones (you know the greatest thing since sliced bread to many around here) wouldn't be enough for some people.

Everyone loses in MMA. Everyone.

I took the bitch route damnit! Probably never get a consensus on this one. The remark earlier about Fedor's american MMA fights is ridiculous. Any fighter that sticks around long enough will have losses at the end. He's ahead of Silva and GSP because they use such a distinct size advantage in most of their fights.
Hendo however fights anyone anywhere. Jones just hasn't done it long enough to be in the conversation. He also walks around at Fedor's weight and chooses to fight smaller opponents. I don't think he'd be nearly as successful at HW. I'd like to see Hendo win and then retire. I believe it's between him and Fedor. He beat Fedor, albeit late in Fedor's career, but that win probably puts him on top.

He may not be "the'' Greatest of All Time, BUT! He's definitely one of the Greatest fighters of all time.

if Hendo puts Jones away, I think you could argue that fact with him avenging a couple losses(Rampage/Silva) Either way. he is an amazing Mixed Martial Artists and I am very happy to say I had the privilege of watching him perform at the pinnacle of his career.
