Jim Miller and Jamie Varner Set to Compete in Spartan Race

It’s said quite often that mixed martial artists are some of the most elite athletes in the world regardless of which sport or competition you’re talking about.
Fighters like Nick Diaz have competed in triathlons, and now two current UFC competitors are going to try their hands at obstacle racing.
UFC lightweight Jim Miller and UFC welterweight Jamie Varner have signed on to compete in Spartan Race, a touring obstacle course race that lasts anywhere from 3 miles all the way to a 40-mile ‘death course’.
Spartan Race combines several different events into one obstacle course where athletes are expected to run, swim, jump, climb and in some instances avoid barbed wire.
“As a UFC athlete I am always looking for ways to challenge myself physically and mentally at the highest levels and Spartan Race is the perfect opportunity for me to do so. I am looking forward to participating in the September event in my home state of New Jersey,” said Jim Miller.
I ran the Warrior Dash last year, yet to do one this year for some reason. It was fun. Something I wanted to see after I left the military was an abstacle to run through. Don't care too much for just running, but a challenge and things to climb over/under, I'm game.
