Injuries, injuries, injuries. The cards aren't purposely being watered down. Joe silva and Sean Shelby haven't suddenly lost their edge. The UFC roster hadn't suddenly become weak. Lots of top fighters have been injured. Look at UFC 149 the card that happened was terrible. The card that was originally set was fantastic. The past four or five events have been plagued with injuries. It's a ripple effect. Soon all the injured fighters will be coming back and cards will start getting stacked. The UFC still has to have marketable star power on fox cards to further the sport. They needed to rely on jones to help carry a card and he failed them. The damn company had so much faith in him that they even sponsored him and he failed them. Jon failed the UFC he failed the fans and he failed his fellow fighters. Worst of all he failed himself, his legacy, and shamed the long line of respectable champions before him. Not to mention the fighters he beat to gain that belt.
Whew.....end rant.

Ellenburger/Kos was a decent co-main... but even with that, the card was week as far as ppv caliber cards.
And yes it was because of an injury... but we have seen it happen too much in the past, the UFC should be more prepared... and have a better card in the first place...
Jay is a true veteran... but is he a UFC PPV co-main event-er... no.

although it will get very confusing looking back at this... because 152 will now become 151 and so forth... They arent skipping the number.

Confused doesn't even begin to describe it. In the last 24 hours we have had like four different fights for the LHW title. An event scratched. And a shitstorm of polarized mma fans lighting up the Internet. Now that the dust has settled we are left with a MW fighting for the LHW belt. WTF.

Your main event of any PPV card should be one you can brag or talk about to others in a way that generates some or any kind of interest. Ellenburger vs Jay doesnt do that.

The co main was weak in terms of name quality. At least that is what I mean, and what I think the rest of the guys on here mean.
In terms of actually quality of the fight itself, I would not consider it weak, just weak in terms of a draw.

Because Ellenberger and Hieron are not big names at all. I do not think anyone was extremely excited because of that fight. That was probably a decent co main event for some UFC on Fuel card, but definitely not for a PPV.
Even Ellenberger vs Koscheck was not that entertaining in paper considering that Koscheck's fights are boring to death.
