Jones doesn't have to do shit but keep winning, the "fans" will keep watching one way or the other. He knows who he is and as soon as he can truly learn not to give a shit about what other people think of him, then he's better off. I know this from personal experience........
You don't care what other people think of you?
I am confident being me, but I sure want my family, friends, and co-workers to think highly of me. Are you speaking in terms of people who don't know him, b/c I can buy that.

I assumed that was what he meant. As in the fans trashing him on the internet and the fighters trashing him on Twitter.

Hey, I love my family and friends. But if they can't accept me for who I am, then I cool with loving em' from a distance. You got one life, no promises of "tomorrow", why stress of small shit? This man knew what da fuck I'm talking about.....
Whether he was loved or hated, he was truly an original. Life is too short to be anything but yourself.

If I were to be completely realistic in my films, you would call me a violent, bloody man. I would simply destroy my opponent by tearing his guts out. I wouldn't do it so artistically." ~Bruce Lee

You already know I don't. I used to but I have come to learn to embrace the hate. Once you do that you actually begin to love pissing off the haters. It becomes a thing of beauty.
Trust me there is way more fun living on the darkside

Jones does not need to worry about whether anyone loves him or not.
...meh, I give him less than six months before he pulls a koscheck and whines in an interview about being misunderstood and how people don't know him.

It's not very hard to disreegard the feeling of a few people on an internet forum. I imagine it's more annoying when you're pretty famous and you get it on the street, on your twitter, at events, in interviews...
I personally think he's frustrated by it so he's saying he doesn't care. Who knows... who cares. People will watch when he steps in the cage. He'll still get payed. He'll still win. I hope he straightens out his out of ring persona because I enjoy him as a fighter... but I'm watching him either way.
A lot of these fans didnt give him a chance from the get go... for their own personal reasons...
Jones has a very odd personality, but he shouldnt get hated on because of it... He at-least attempted to come off a humble and respectful. There clearly is a lot of withheld cockiness, but it shows he cares to try and act the right way.
There are so many athletes that are very open with their cockiness. They think they are the shit and dont care about anything else... 10 years from now, fans are going to wish for more people like Jones.
Jones has never gone as far as calling someone a "little bitch"(like Hendo did to Bisping)
When Fedor laughs at Sylvia or another opponent it is a good joke, but when Jones gives a cocky laugh he is condemned for being a "disrespectful punk"
IMO all fighters must be very confident in themselves... but true professionals like Fedor, GSP, etc dont talk themselves up and act humble... Jones was acting the same way.
When his character is constantly being attacked out by internet warriors, who clearly have double standards based on other fighters they support, of course he is going to be upset and respond...
I agree if his goal was to get more fans/smooth over the situation he should have responded differently... but what he said was not unjustified... Why would he try and win over the fans and fighters that so quickly threw him under the bus and condemned him.
Brilliant twit (is that what it's called??) by Jones. He doesn't have to be a full fledged asshole but if he stays cocky and conceited his PPV buys will go through the roof.
I always people should embrace when their true nature is revealed. I would be a huge Tiger Woods fan if he would show up golf tournaments with a bunch of porn stars and nympho's behind him.
