At this point he needs to take the Mayweather approach and embrace the hate. That hatred can easily be used to his advantage if he is willing to commit.

You want people to either love you or hate you. The people who get stuck in between are generally labled as being uninteresting.

Embracing the hate is only a good idea if you cannot handle the separation between personalities. If not, living in with negative energy constantly surrounding you can lead you down some depressive paths. For someone who does not know who they want to be, they will not end up being happy with what they are doing any longer as the stress will pile up. One side will take over. Despite how zen Jones claims to be with his meditation, allowing the yin and yang to be utterly imbalanced will only lead to sadness and unfulfillment.

Why is it that Mayweather has problems with assaulting his ex-girlfriend or retired early from his sport? I'd assume that it was because he allowed the negativity to seep too far into his consciousness that it became him. It no longer was a role that he played. Attempting to be Scarface is fun and all but you have to draw a line somewhere.

...regardless, Jones' interview trying to give his side of the story is a strong indicator that there's still more Anakin in him than there is Darth Vader.

If there were a way for him to be popular and beloved, I have no doubt he'd leap at the opportunity.

No but he did get his ass kicked for fighting too early. Let Count Dooku be your guide.

He tried to do it the right way and yet here we are. Why try hard to appease those that pray on your downfall...? Jones needs to say fuck it and succumb to the path chosen for him by fate. When he tried to be humble and respectful people claimed he was fake. When he tried being himself he was called a douche. Being beloved by everyone is an impossible task so why bother when all you need is family and close friends. People that actually matter because those same people will be your support system through thick and thin.

Fans and haters come and go like the weather. He needs to prioritize what is important, stay true to himself and let everything else fall into place.

That's a damn travesty of a Start Wars reference. The rest of the world is trying to forget that shit ever happened and you had to bring it up... FOR SHAME!!!!!

In re-reading this thread I have to say dmc_tim is on fire. Everything you said had me busting a gut laughing.
