| Glover Teixeira willing to fight anyone in the UFC (except Lyoto Machida) - MMAmania.com Quote:
Glover Teixeira willing to fight anyone in the UFC (except Lyoto Machida)
With the short list of viable title contenders in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight ranks, it's easy to see why Brazilian import Glover Teixeira is all the rage.
Aside from his 16-fight winning streak, the submission-savvy mixed martial arts (MMA) veteran made a statement at UFC 146 in his Octagon debut, choking out the venerable Kyle Kingsbury and capturing "Submission of the Night" in the process.
There's already whispers of expediting his rise to the top.
That means Teixeira could be looking at a "big name" opponent for his next fight, something he is more than willing to accept -- so long as it isn't his friend and former training partner Lyoto Machida.
His conversation with TapouT Radio (via Bloody Elbow) after the jump.
"In the UFC, it's about names. Every fight is hard, and everybody knows all the disciplines. Some might know more than others. You just see the big names. Some guys that are just starting out might fight better than the big name guys. I really don't care. I just want to prove to myself and to the fans that I deserve to be in the UFC. I'll fight whoever they give me. A big name would be better, because it will give me a jump in my career, but it's not something I'm actively looking for. It's whatever comes. Right now, the one I wouldn't want to fight is Lyoto Machida. I've trained with him, I help him out and he's a great guy. I just arrived in the UFC, and I'm not really in a situation to say no. Whatever they tell me to do, I'll do, but if I could have a say, Lyoto would be the one I wouldn't want to fight."
Now that division champion Jon Jones has all but cleaned out the 205-pound division (Dan Henderson notwithstanding), there are plenty of former titleholders to choose from, even with "The Dragon" removed from consideration.
So who gets the call?

This just in Rampage jumped out of his seat with fright while watching tapes of Glover. Rampage now has a herniated disc and a cut on his forehead which he hit on a coffee table upon falling down immediately in pain.

HMMM... I wonder if Anderson would fight Glover...
Stylistically he would jump at the idea... Glover is a very dangerous, aggressive striker.... he likes that.
I dont know if they trained together or what not, both being Brazilian and having few mutual friends. Quote:

Hendo also let Sonnen hit him in the kneecap with a baseball bat.. for fear of what Jones would do to him...
GSP wanted nothing to do with Nick or Carlos, like Diaz said... so he faked the injury.
Glad to see we could both shed some light.

| Rampage Jackson Out of UFC 153 With Elbow Injury - MMA Fighting Quote:
Rampage Jackson Out of UFC 153 With Elbow Injury

Sep 11, 2012 - An injury to former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton "Rampage" Jackson has led to his removal from UFC 153. UFC President Dana White announced the news via Twitter on Tuesday afternoon.
"Rampage is hurt and out of UFC 153 RIO. SUCKS!!!!!!" White posted.
MMA Fighting's Ariel Helwani confirmed the injury is to Jackson's elbow. White didn't know how long he would be out for.
Jackson (32-10) was scheduled to face burgeoning Brazilian contender Glover Teixeira (18-2) in UFC 153's co-main event. According to Teixeira's trainer, John Hackleman, UFC officials are presently working to find a replacement opponent to keep Teixeira on the card.
The injury is yet another blow to an already unlucky year for Jackson. The 34-year-old has fought just once in 2012, falling short in a listless and disappointing upset loss to Ryan Bader at UFC 144.
After a public dispute with UFC officials, Jackson was tentatively scheduled to rematch Mauricio "Shogun" Rua for his final fight under the Zuffa banner, however any plans fell by the wayside when Jackson elected to have double knee surgery in March.

Have Goose fight Glover at 153, and Quinton fight Shogun in December. The old switcheroo!

Goose and Glover will not fight just like Cain and JDS never fought until it was for a title.

Im guessing Glover will probably get an easy fight now as most "top contenders" are tied up with something atm.

Goose has shogun in early December. Davis vs Prado again due to the eye poke. Thiago Silva tho, now I think we're on to something if he's not injured or anything.
