I don't like this matchup. Dan should be getting his title shot. He was the Strikeforce LW champ, KOd Fedor, and won the fight of the year against Shogun. He's earned it. In any case, I think he takes the decision.

I didn't think Machida deserved the first shot at Jones or the second shot he "earned", but Hendo DEFINITELY shouldn't have to take another fight before getting his opportunity. I hope UFC changes their mind and gives Machida a different opponent.

Jones pulls a Silva and finishes the Belfort fight without a scratch.

Machina Hendo get into a Shogun style battle with both having to sit out for months after.

Jones could be waiting a long time for his next contender. Although, if anyone deserves a break it is Jones.

If Dan just lobs forward all night and hopes to land the bomb on Machida, He'll get cracked hard enough to put him trouble, and Machida is one of the best finishers when he smells blood(imo)

If Dan wants to win hes got to push the pace and establish his strength right off the bat. Get in Machiads face constantly, dont let him find his range and rough him up with everything he can from inside of kicking distance.

I think Machida needs to let Dan wear himself out and then go for the kill. If this is a main event, Machida wins with probably a submission finish. If its a 3 round match, its a much closer fight.

I'm more excited for this fight than I was for Hendo/Jones or Machida/Jones. Should be a great fight, but Machida has done very well against guys with Hendo's type of game. But Hendo is much better than Bader, Randy, Tito, and Rashad(circa 2009).

This has the potential to be one shitty fight. I can't see Machida wanting any part of getting close to Hendo. I think he will be too cautious try and get a few shots in and ride out the decision.

This is a bullshit matchup. LHW use to be so stacked but all of the top fighters have fallen off, there's no chuck, Wand, Randy, Coleman, Tito. Rampage, Shogun and Forrest seem to be about done in their careers, well past their peak, and the UFC feels Dan needs to knock another contender out, for what?

As soon as I read this matchup, I thought Machida-Rampage fight. It may end up being a similar fight where Hendo stalks Machida all around the cage while Machida evades him and then Machida turns it on in the 3rd when Hendo slows down.
