I assume most think i'm defending Jon Jones in my posts while cradling his nuts but i'm not. I agree that he has acted in ways that may make a lot of guys look at him strangely but he's never seemed to have any bad intentions, so I can't hate him for it. I also agree that he made a stupid decision in the DUI incident, and he says a lot of cocky, arrogant shit but nothing terrible. Guys on top tend to do that sometimes (talk a lot, not get DUIs). He's had an extremely rocky road since being boosted into stardom and into the position he's in. He went from being a highly touted prospect to one of the biggest players in MMA in a matter of what, two or three years?
Bullshit aside, i've tried to look past all of the nonsense and have only been sticking up for what Jones has accomplished and what he's capable of as a fighter and an icon. I am aware of both ends of the spectrum when it comes to Jones and why people don't like him or even despise him, however, I choose not to. I'm stuck with a dilemma being that I know how exciting it is to have fighters to "hate" and to watch in hopes of them losing, but at the same time, I kind of feel foolish now in some ways when I think back to my rants over the Diaz brothers and such. I don't exactly know why.
I admit that it's kind of a drag being on the other side of all this with some of you but no one agrees on everything. It's an MMA forum and I enjoy getting under people's skin, as do I appreciate how some people can get under mine at times. Nothing is personal, it's all just about MMA. No matter our differing opinions, we're all a part of this board, and most guys on here are good guys.
