Marcus Davis defeats fellow UFC veteran David Bielkheden on Oct. 6 in Sweden - MMAmania.com

Quote:
He's no longer competing for Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), but former Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 2 contestant Marcus Davis is still getting his hands dirty in the sport of mixed martial arts (MMA).

And winning.

"The Irish Hand Grenade" was back in action over the weekend for Superior Challenge 8 in Malmo, Sweden, scoring a unanimous decision win over fellow UFC veteran David Bielkheden.

From The Bangor Daily News:

Davis had Bielkheden in trouble late in the opening round of this 170-pound battle of former UFC competitors, putting the Swedish fighter on his back. Davis then knocked down Bielkheden twice early in the second round to take full control of the fight. Bielkheden scored a takedown midway through the third round but was unable to follow through as Davis returned to a standing position and went on to control the late action against his tiring opponent.

The win improves Davis to 21-9 and the former boxer is now 4-1 over his last five contests. Bielkheden falls to 17-12 in defeat as part of a dismal 1-5 stretch.

Davis was released from ZUFFA in early 2011 after getting knocked out by Jeremy Stephens at UFC 125. It was his fourth loss in five chances and he was finished convincingly in three of those four defeats. Since returning to the regional and international circuit, "The Irish Hand Grenade" has only lost once, a split decision to former TUF guy Chuck O'Neil.

Great to hear about Marcus, only dropped one fight in a while and it was a split.

The funny thing about this is that just yesterday I was wondering "man, I wonder what Marcus Davis has been up to" Then I find out that he had just fought haha.

Good to hear. I always liked this guy. He always puts on a great show. I'd like to see him have one more run in the UFC before he retires. Maybe they'll call him up for an injury replacement.
