Yes Chael needs a few wins first before he get a shot at the title. BUT! this is the UFC and there is a very good chance that he might get one after beating Forrest lol.

2 questions;

How do you see the forrest vs sonnen fight going? IMO chael wins a UD but a UD that is very similar to the one he had against Marquardt.

and last question;

Why are you disgusted by it? He's beat bisping,stann,marquardt,okami, miller and assuming he beats forrest you can add him to the list. He also is the only person on the UFC roster that has come even remotely close to beating the best fighter to ever step foot on the planet in AS, that has to count for something.

Would he be getting the fast track to the title if he beats Forrest? Sure, but its happened before and im sure it will happen again.

Not to speak for RH, but I don't believe fights in one division should effect his ranking in a another division.

So if AS wanted a shot at Bones for the belt would he be at the back of the line at 205? or would his fights against James Irvin, Forrest and now bonnar be enough to get him a shot?

It seems like its a double standard for some fighters but not others. Rankings are opinion based at best, my 205 rankings could be different from yours, or RH's or even Joe Silvas.

Its these "rankings" that are killing good potential fights, ie Glover vs. Shogun (and anyone else for that matter who tunred down that fight because he wasnt a big enough draw)

For me it goes like this; Your the champion, you fight anyone that calls out your name. Thats the great thing about being champion, you have what everyone else wants, and if you arent willing to give everyone a shot at the belt then you shouldnt be the champion

maybe im oldschool or however you want to put it, thats just how i feel

But the difference is Silva has fought and won at LHW in the UFC. And while I think a win against Bonnar wouldn't earn Silva a hypothetical title shot, it would put him a fight away. Sonnen on the other hand hasn't won a fight at LHW in the UFC. At all. I'm not opposed to him getting a fight with Bones, I just think he should have to do more then beat Forrest Griffin to get it.

So by that logic if Joey Beltran called out Bones, he would be obligated to fight him.

Saying that Sonnen deserves a shot at the belt with a win over Forrest Griffen, is even more crazy as saying that Bisping deserves a shot at Silva after a fight with Stann.
