You gotta wonder what the physical toll it took on Jake making the hard cut down all those years to WW, then making a hard run at MW by packing on a good degree of musclemass and then, jumping over to the UFC where he drops back down to 170 and has a horrible time making weight.

Chael's suspension was changed from a year to six months when he showed that he was on TRT and just hadn't applied for the exemption. So weed or TRT are my two guesses...
P.S. - I hope he didn't develop some kind of drug habit to cope with the loss of his father.

He probably got addicted to horsemeat.
If it's his 'test, then maybe he's been eating too many Brazil nuts or something Tim Ferris would claim.

Six months seems short; I'd guess TRT too but his message seems to suggest it's just something he shouldn't be taking at all.
Also, not sure why people still think of Jake as a contender. I think the UFC is a higher level of competition that he's just not able to keep up with. Maybe top 15, but not higher in my book at MW. Quote:

Its seems like "Banned substances" hinder more then help. I mean whose the most sucessfull cheater lol?
I bet Mac Danzig would say he got sloppy with his cycling and misjudged when he'd be clean lol.
Seriously though why would Jake be clean for fights with Hendo/GSP/Kampmann/ellenberger but then try his luck at cheating against Ed Herman?

Maybe I'm splitting hairs but "elevated testosterone" and "banned substances" are two distinctly different ways to fail a drug test. We may never know because Shields copped to it, and the commission doesn't release results.
Would be crazy if he was on that Winston (aka Winstrol) or something artificial rather than elevated T which he could blame on a doctor's mistake.
