Cormier is the wrestling coach of AKA and has coached the wrestling squad at the international level. He would probably be the FIRST actual coach on TUF. And BTW, he was Koscheck's wrestling coach on TUF as well, so he has some exposure.

The UFC is very good at marketing and I'm sure they wont have a problem hyping a guy like Cormier, especially with him having wins over Monson, Silva, and Barnett. And he is more of class act than JJ.

The first UFC LW champs was an unknown? I think we differ in our definitions of that phrase.

To the casual fan, how well known was Jens Pulver?
Like I said, he fought in the UFC during the dark ages. Yes, he was a LW champ and beat Penn in the process, but he was returning to the UFC after 4 year absence and his first fight back was in a KO loss to Lauzon.

He may have technically been top 10 but the only reason was due to the horribly boring LNP style he employs, which everyone knew wouldn't work against Machida. I bet that was the easiest KO victory Machida has ever had. Bader literally just started running forward lol

I think Goose is a tougher fight than Hendo at this point, also.

I agree with you but I think it will be hard for Jones to continue at the pace he fought at over the last year or two. TUF might be a good way to let the 'prospects' build up again before Jones has literally cleaned out the whole division.

That's a great idea, it'll stop the bitching about rematches at least for awhile. Depending on how the division works itself out during that time.
