The hate for Silva here is reaching fever pitch at a ridiculous rate.
Silva will fight Weidman eventually, and will beat him, guess what? People will still find something to bitch about. If Weidman hadn't been running his mouth so much I dont think people would be so eager to say Silva is "ducking" him. Weidman is a semi legitimate contender but I feel his mouth is giving him that extra little push.
I dont think Munoz vs Weidman was a worthy number one contender fight anyways. Both guys had a win over maia.. and Munoz had just beaten Leben. Having Weidman fight Boetcsh was the best matchmaking imo, and if Weidman doesn't get a shot after that then fair enough.. I'll say Silva is ducking him.
Lombard and Boetch were on the same level as Weidman and Munoz before their fight imo.

He's earned his right to have "fun" matches in different weight classes but don't hold the title hostage if you don't intend on defending it. | Dont hold the title hostage!?!?! he defended the title in June of this year hes not holding the title hostage at all. Lets take a second and look at the top 9 MW's and see who really deserves a title shot against the greatest fighter of all time. Michael Bisping (1 fight win streak, notable wins; Brian Stann, Sexyama, Chris Leben. Notable losses; Chael Sonnen, Wanderli Silva, Dan Henderson, Rashad Evans) Vitor Belfort (1 fight lossing streak, notable wins; Sexyama, Rich Franklin. notable losses; Jon Jones Anderson Silva Dan henderson) Chris Weidman (9 fight win streak, notable wins Mark Munoz, Demian Mia. notable losses; N/A) Tim Boetsch (4 fight win streak, notable wins; Hector Lombard, Yushin Okami. notable losses; Phil Davis, Jason Brillz, Matt Hamill.) Mark Munoz (1 fight lossing streak, notable wins; Chris Leben, Damian Mia. notable losses; Chris Weidman, Yushin Okami, Matt Hamill.) Alan Belcher (4 fight win streak, notable wins; Rousimir Palhares, Patrick Cote. notable losses; Sexyama, Jason Day, Kendal Grove, Yushin Okami.) Brian Stann (1 fight losing streak, notable wins; Alessio Sakara, Chris Leben. notable losses; Micheal Bisping, Chael Sonnen, Phil Davis.) Yushin Okami (1 fight winning streak, notable wins; Nate Marquadt, Mark Munoz, Alan Belcher. notable losses; Tim Boetsch, Anderson Silva, Chael Sonnen, Rich Franklin) Luke Rockhold (9 fight win streak, notable wins; Tim Kennedy, Keith Jardine, Ronaldo Souza. notable losses; Tony Rubalacava)
Now looking at that list, who really deserves a title shot? Bisping is on a 1 fight win streak and im sorry beating Brian Stann doesnt get you a title shot bisping...and the only reason it got chael a rematch is because of how well he did against AS the first time.
Weidman is the next best choice, and his only key wins are Mark Munoz and Mia, i (like AS) believe he needs 1 or 2 more fights agaisnt bigger names before he calls out the champ, and also remember that Weidman is one of the young stars the UFC has...they wont throw him to the lions so to speak with AS's time in the UFC numbered due to his age. They will wait, build him up with a couple bigger names and then once AS is gone from the MW division enter Chris Weidman.
At this point AS has done everything asked of him in the MW division, who cares if he wants to fight GSP or dana wants him to fight Bones Jones, these are the best fights to make and the FANS want to see them. For how many years we have been asking for the GSP vs AS superfight and more recently AS vs Bones Jones and it looks like one of these fights is going to happen...now all of a sudden people are going to complain that hes ducking weidman?!?!

CM | Normally I don't come right out, and say this, but you are an idiot. I would normally politely disagree, but just the fact that you have Bisping as the number one contender...come on man...

CM | Just look at how often Silva's been fighting, pretty much once a year. He was gonna wait till 2013 to fight but changed his mind for whatever reasons (I'll keep to myself to not hurt any feelings).
