Nick Diaz still interested in fight with Anderson Silva

Nick Diaz still interested in fight with Anderson Silva

Diaz’s manager/coach Cesar Gracie went online this week to let the world know Diaz still wants to fight Silva though UFC President Dana White isn’t necessarily keen on the idea. Diaz’s interest in a showdown with Silva was initially revealed in late July where it was stated he’d even fight the fan-favorite at 185 pounds if need be.

The 37-year old Silva has been vocal about his desire to take on welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre in the coming months, seeking the biggest fights possible before calling it a career. However, after Diaz’s name was originally thrown around, Silva’s management acknowledged the bout made for an intriguing possibility considering the competitor’s fanbase and fighting style.

I've really wanted to see this fight ever since Diaz made the challenge. I'm no huge fan of either fighter, but this fight just seems like it would be fireworks.

How about a boxing match with those two? Who wins?

Thats BEYOND easy to call. Anderson, 100 percent of the time or as RH likes to say 10 out of 10 times.

Nick has horrible boxing technique. It works great in MMA but as far as technical skill, Anderson all the way from top to bottom. It would be a massacre.

I'd rather see that fight then Silva/GSP

You can understand why Diaz thinks he could win... A fighter must think that way... but he gets absolutely murked by Silva...

Anderson easily... Nick tries his volume style while Anderson lands on him with his precision striking, until he drops and cannot make the 10 count.

Why, it may be an exciting fight until Diaz cannot take the beating anymore... but GSP has a FAR better chance against Anderson... He has the best double in the game and wont stand with Anderson like Nick will.

His head movement and footwork can definitely use some improvement but I wouldn't say his technique is horrible...when he's actually fighting smart he can be pretty quick about getting out of the way of shots and timing quick counters...and he's good about figuring out what his opponent's basic plan is and basing his attacks/counter off of that...but Anderson would definitely win lol

Silva would destroy probably every single mma fighter in the world in a boxing match that is not a HW...and he would probably beat most HW's, if not all, too.

Those reasons are the same ones I have for wanting to see the fight.
