“I’m old, guys. I’m getting old. I’m retired. I’m nearly there. I’ve only got another five years. I think [GSP] would be a great challenge for me. I prefer him over Jon Jones. He’s smaller. It’ll be a little bit easier. I’ll be hit less.”
| While talking to the media following last Saturday’s dominant win over Stephan Bonnar, the pound-for-pound king, Anderson Silva discussed whats next in super fights.

The title says it all...
to be fair, he is simply stating the obvious..
Only 5 more years? that would be great....
I would personally love to see the UFC really push for Silva/GSP, then Silva/Jones.... Make Anderson fight them both... Dana seems thoroughly interested in both fights.
Or this would be my ideal situation... although close to impossible to happen... Make them all move up once they beat their immediate contenders...
I want to see all of them challenged... they are clearly head and shoulders above their division... Same goes for Aldo in a fight or two...
I dont have much confidence at all in Condit, Weidman, or Hendo in being able to beat the Champ.

Yeah, sounds like the kind of attitude a champion should have.

Man I hope he has 5 more years in him, that's about 10 fights for Anderson.
GSP may not be easier, that's just an assumption from Anderson. I can see GSP being harder if GSP can take him down. Similar to Chael vs. Anderson 1. Whereas, Jones, I can imagine him trying to stand with Anderson and getting caught. I don't think GSP is that naive to stand.

Silva said to Rogan during Bonnar post-fight chat that he's not fighting at 205, that he's the 185lb champion and he should defend his belt... Now he wants to fight a welterweight because its' 'easier'...
Dunno if he thinks that'll goad GSP into the fight, but that's some cowardly sounding shit.

The whole superfight thing is old, and played out.
Let the champs fight in THIER weightclasses and stop these pointless fights. The UFC should force Anderson to fight Chris Wiedman. IMO Chris is the number one contender.
GSP should fight the other 170lbers
Jones should fight the 205lbers
The rest of this superfight shit is to sell PPVs and nothing more. It is a hype game fellas and the UFC is the king of hype.
Anderson has 2 fights left on his contract and he is 37 years old...he IS almost retired.

Anderson reads mmanews.com forums and is trolling Rivethead. That is the only explanation.

Wasn't this at the post fight press conference? when he was laughing as he said it? Part of me feels he's trying to get GSP a bit riled up.
Anyway, I think GSP vs Silva is a very tough fight for Silva, tougher than most of you guys seem to think anyway.
