I really believe that people like Bill Murray or John Belushi are just as great and just as valid as Robert De Niro or Al Pacino. And I don't think you can say One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975) is a better movie than Animal House (1978); they're different genres. I think they're both examples of great craftsmanship.

Riggs was the first one I thought of.
Hieron would be next.

rh | Diesel was my first thought too.
If we're talking purely UFC success, Id say Akiyama(sp) is kind of getting there with me too... Karo is another good example..
Kendall Grove. Not really that I was expecting him to be an all time great, but with his skills and size at 185, I did expect more...

Someone said Huerta, I agree with that. He was pretty overconfident when he fought Kenflo, and it seemed like things started going downhill for him after that fight.
Wislon Gouveia was a pretty talented guy, also. Never seemed like he trained that hard though, from looking at his body.

Some great names thrown here
I think Melvin Guilard is another one, he has all the tools to be a champ but seems to beat himself a lot. Rampage is another (I know he's had a pretty good career) I feel could have been so much better if he actually liked training. To think he's accomplished so much on raw talent is crazy, he's devolved himself as fighter instead of evolve more, which is sad.

Brandon Vera was the first name that came into my head, I also watched Cantwell fight a few times and thought he was extremely good, but for some reason he couldn't really compete against UFC fighters, Hell even Melvin Guillard can be categorized in this list I think....one of the most, if not, the most explosive fighter in the division yet he can't get it together

For me Thiago Alves, hes got a style that not many people can match and always brings it. I know he went a nice streak to earn a shot at GSP but since then hes been hit with some hard losses (some losses that should/could be wins)

His MFC fights post UFC cut were also quite disappointing....
