Jon Jones has the luxury to throw those wild strikes because of his reach and his wrestling. If he were to throw a wild strike that left him open for a takedown, he knows he will be hard to take down and if he were to be taken down, he can get back up.
Prob is, it would be stupid to try that against DC, whose wrestling is perhaps the best in either LHW/HW division. DC is very agile and quick for a big dude and if JJ throws a wild strike of any kind, DC could make him pay for it by coming underneath with a TD.
It's an intriguing fight, and I would love to see it one day.
