[The Donosaur]

In Sonnen's book he talks about having a gimmick. He has that gimmick for a reason, and that reason is that it improves his life. He became famous from his gimmick which increased his likely hood of getting title shots. The man accepts any fight, and he hypes the hell out of it. I can't blame him for that. I would be doing the same thing if I was in his position. The people at fault are the people who are giving him this title fight.

As for rampage, I love when somebody pretends to not know the name of someone that is more famous than them.

Chael is that his name? I don't know him. He is the most controversial figure in my sport, and he is about to get his third title shot? hmm can't say that I've heard of him. He beat my buddy Bisping? You'd think I'd remember that, but it doesn't ring a bell. He wrote a book? ...

I don't think it's Chael, but rather UFC for granting Chael a title shot. Chael is doing what he does, it's the UFC's job to keep the sport legitimate in regards to matchmaking.

As far as chaels antics... he's got a mouth on him, but at least he's not tearing up the streets in his monster truck like some deranged maniac and blaming it on dehydration i think it was?

No everyone is crying about it now, but where were they when the whole 151 charade happened... Either calling Jones a selfish coward or not speaking up at all....

Dana said many times it was what the fans wanted... Dont ask for something then cry when you get it... I know its not all of the fans, but enough of them to make the UFC look into making the fight.

Twitter and the MMA sites blew up when that news came out... I know the UFC has never cancelled a card, but it was insane to see how big of a reaction it got.

Add to that, the horrible ratings TUF has been getting, now with the new network... The UFC is desperate to bring it back to life... They had to pull out the big guns...

People were upset due to the fact that Jones had a full camp, yet chose to turn down a replacement fight against a smaller fighter who wouldn't even have a chance to go through a camp. Furthermore, he turned it down not because he didn't think he could win, but because he didn't think he would look his best.

That is pathetic. We don't expect our champions to act like spoiled divas.

That wouldnt be the best case scenario for Rampage... but even if Rampage didnt come at his best.... it is still a very winnable fight for him...

Do you see Glover getting him down.... If you watch Glover's fights, he favors his hands and comes out very aggressive... He could outstrike rampage, but that is still a very dangerous game to play... especially if he wants to trade hands with him.



Rampage's actions make him look foolish, it doesnt necessarily reflect on the sport... sure you'll have the idiots in power who run with shit like that... but MMA is far beyond the point where that could really hurt it imo...


While Sonnen is setting a precedent that will lead to a lot more trash talking and fights being made based upon the resulting saleability.

It may hurt the "sport" aspect somewhat, but if it actually helps the sport get more eyes on it, then it may not be such a bad thing....



Jones simply commented on the far fetched idea... Dont think that was anywhere near a possibility... DC is having a tough enough time getting to the UFC in the first place... Would they put a guy who never fought in the UFC or at LHW for that matter on TUF as a coach? and his last time trying to cut a good amount of weight... almost died...

Yep... the reason DC isnt on TUF is because Jones didnt want him there...

I guess we need someone else to claim that Jones is ducking, now that he is fighting Sonnen.

I really don't know what to say to that,sure he's taken a few opponents down but not any solid wrestlers. We can't forget Rampage was a wrestler first, how he decided to use it or not is another thing.

Maybe he's learned some solid tds from Lidell, who knows. All I know is he needs to tighten those looping hooks and use some straights and jabs if he plans on banging with Rampage. Those hooks with that aggression just plays into Rampage's countering, especially that left hook (Rampage v Silva 3).

Rampage will destroy any striker that doesn't leg kick him to death. It doesn't matter if the fighter is throwing looping hooks or not, Page is an amazing technical boxer and IMO the best in MMA right beside BJ. If Glover can't take Page down he is going to get his ass kicked.

I don't blame a fighter for hyping themselves and trying to get title shots. Sonnen has done a great job getting the public to want what he has. Now the UFC I do hold responsible for a meaningless title fight.
