Carlos had one of the best fights and best adaptations vs a fighter in recent MMA history against Diaz. What has this board become?

Disagree.

That could have been a crazy good fight if Condit would have engaged more and stood in the pocket a bit more...

It was a smart gameplan but there was no more than a tiny chance that either fighter was going to get an oppurtunity to finish in a fight like that. Fight to finish fights!

I really don't care for either guy, im tired of watching possibly the greatest ww of all time cruise to a decision because he fights not to lose. All his opponents asides from Hardy, he could have finished but played it safe. I really hope condit catches him with a brutal knee or something to end the fight.

I also don't like condit either after the Diaz fight and whole "waiting" game but at least he's finished his last few opponents.

Condit fought a brilliant fight standing up vs a great standup fighter who everyone thought would win. Ive watched the fight 3 times and I don't see Condit standing back and waiting, I see him tactically picking Diaz apart. Rounds 4 and 5 it was Condit attacking first and pressing forward by the way and how come Machida gets a pass when every fight in his existence he does what people are claiming Condit did here vs Diaz?

I don't know if you can really call it picking apart though when the strikes he is landing do not seem to have much effect on Diaz and Diaz isn't much (if any) more damaged than him at the end of the fight. Diaz's face was a bit marked up, but the dude has a lot of scar tissue and his face gets damaged rather easily and Condit has some good marks as well...and I don't think Condit's kicks did much damage tbh.

When Diaz landed a punch, Condit retreated as fast as he could. When Condit landed punches, Diaz would either walk right through them or taunt him...

I do think Condit won the 3rd and 4th rounds, though, and I guess probably the 5th and I do not know why Diaz wasn't a bit more aggressive in those rounds. He got too conservative against Cyborg and Noons at points in those fights, also.

I mean he didn't have to stand in the pocket as much as BJ Penn or Daley did lol but there just weren't as many signifigant strikes landed as you would like in a 5 round fight, for me...it's one thing if your actually thinking the fight might end eventually and the strikes your landing are gradually getting you closer to that goal, but with Carlos I think he knew what he was doing and was determined to win a point fight from the start. Some of his kicks literally had nothing on them. Then you got Diaz who comes to fight and kill or be killed basically lol which is the type of attitude I love in a fighter.

Leg kicks have a huge effect in a 5 round fight. Diaz stopped pressing forward at the end of the 3rd round, the entire 4th and 5th round. Carlos plan was a masterpiece. He wore Diaz down and avoided taking big damage then pressed him in the last 2 rounds. Watch the fight again, he broke down Diaz and it clearly showed.

I have watched the fight several times and I don't really think Condit broke Diaz down as you put it...it didn't really look like Diaz was having trouble moving on it and from the post fight video after the fight Diaz didn't look to have any trouble standing/walking on it at all.

The one thing that worries me the most about this fight is that GSP has been out so long and coming off a serious injury. It's to bad he couldn't have taken a warm up fight first.

O.K When was the last time GSP put someone down for a nap? Not a TKO but where "they would need a pillow" KO? I really do not remeber one.

Come on Kevo you are better than that

No, that was a "GSP is going to take Condit down and stick him on his back for 20 out of 25 minutes" joke. No way in hell GSP knocks Condit out cold.
