I don't know if you can really call it picking apart though when the strikes he is landing do not seem to have much effect on Diaz and Diaz isn't much (if any) more damaged than him at the end of the fight. Diaz's face was a bit marked up, but the dude has a lot of scar tissue and his face gets damaged rather easily and Condit has some good marks as well...and I don't think Condit's kicks did much damage tbh.
When Diaz landed a punch, Condit retreated as fast as he could. When Condit landed punches, Diaz would either walk right through them or taunt him...
I do think Condit won the 3rd and 4th rounds, though, and I guess probably the 5th and I do not know why Diaz wasn't a bit more aggressive in those rounds. He got too conservative against Cyborg and Noons at points in those fights, also.
I mean he didn't have to stand in the pocket as much as BJ Penn or Daley did lol but there just weren't as many signifigant strikes landed as you would like in a 5 round fight, for me...it's one thing if your actually thinking the fight might end eventually and the strikes your landing are gradually getting you closer to that goal, but with Carlos I think he knew what he was doing and was determined to win a point fight from the start. Some of his kicks literally had nothing on them. Then you got Diaz who comes to fight and kill or be killed basically lol which is the type of attitude I love in a fighter.
