| Condit will have something waiting for Georges St. Pierre and his takedown attempts Carlos Condit will have something waiting for Georges St. Pierre and his takedown attempts Quote:
Mike Winkeljohn, Condit's head trainer for his title unification bout against St. Pierre at UFC 154 on Nov. 17, 2012, knows all too well how good Georges is with his takedown offense, that's why he's confident he can prepare Condit to ‘have something for him' every time he shoots.
From his conversation with Sherdog Radio: Quote: |
"Georges is the best in the world at what he does, but at the same time, we know what he does. He does that, and hardly anybody's been able really to stop it, but with that being said, Carlos has got something for him. Every time he wants to shoot in, we want to not give him the proper distance. We want to not be there when he does shoot, but when he does, we want to have something there for him."

Mike says Condit will look to inflict as much damages as possible on Georges early on: Quote: |
"He definitely followed my gameplan for Nick Diaz to a T, but with that being said, it's different with Georges. Nick comes back from the dead. I think Carlos can unload on Georges and do damage early, and that will pay benefits as we go on ... . You will see a different fight that way. The way to fight Georges is not to back away and touch him because he's going to eventually take you down and ride out a decision that way and he could finish you. Georges is great in many different positions, but the way to beat Georges is to hurt him. That's what this fight is going to come down to: Carlos can strike from so many places. He can hurt you in so many ways. What people have forgotten is that early in Carlos' career, he was tapping people out left and right. Carlos is great with his submissions and working on them daily. He wants to time Carlos' footwork to come forward and shoot on Carlos. There's no doubt about it. He's got to close the gap. Carlos is longer -- we know that, so that's what we're looking for. Things are going to happen when one of the two guys close the gap."

My one criticism with Georges is I wish the guy would finish more people because I know he has the ability to. He’s the best guy I’ve ever fought. I just wish he would go out there and do that to everybody else the way he made me feel. I’m not being mean, I’m, just being very honest. The guy has so much talent, just go out there and use it all. I think he’s just very careful. He doesn’t want to lose, which of course nobody does, but then the more effort you put into finishing a fight the more you open yourself up. Matt Serra is a great example, he was going out there striking with him and he got caught with a punch. I think he’s just a very careful person.”
When asked who he felt is the greatest welterweight of all time, Hughes said:
“You would have to say either me or Georges. I guess to differentiate, it would be opinion.”
When asked to choose one, Matt simply stated:
“Well, Georges beat me twice.”

Hope it's a pillow, for Condit to rest his head on.

Yea I see nothing but knees coming GSPs way when he tries but with that being said he may land that knee but GSP will grab it and he will go down, eventually.

I hope it's not a bicycle to backpedal on, like the one he rode for 25 minutes against Nick Diaz.

What if the thing he has waiting for GSP is...more waiting. What if Condit just keeps waiting and waiting until GSP gets bored and just gives him the title. It sounds crazy, but Condit has been practicing his waiting for months now. He is practically a black belt in waiting.
I'd like to hear his response to my theory, but I'll probably be waiting a long time for that...that sly bastard...

Ok, so Carlos will have something waiting for him when he shoots in?
GSP will fake the shot and see what Carlos' reaction is. Then he'll fake again and likely a 3rd time. Problem solved.
Koscheck thought GSP would take him down in the 2nd fight.... look what happened.
I call GSP winning by some sort of gameplan that none of us would have ever predicted but has us shaking our heads afterwards in awe of his strategic genius.

Alot of Condit hate huh? I still don't get it I guess... Anyway, I hope Condit keeps up on that sub and sweep game, because at some point GSP will take him down. He just needs to be able to pop up quick, and get his shots in. I have faith NBK will pull this out, I'm just not sure if it'll be a decision or a finish.
