| Report: Rashad Evans vs. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira booked for Super Bowl weekend UFC Report: Rashad Evans vs. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira booked for Super Bowl weekend UFC - Bloody Elbow Quote:
Brazil's SporTV is reporting that Antonio Rogerio Nogueira has verbally agreed to face Rashad Evans at a UFC event to be held in February 2013.
Brazil's SporTV is reporting that former UFC Light Heavyweight champ Rashad Evans and Brazilian legend Antonio "Little Nog" Rogerio Nogueira have verbally agreed to a bout to be held on February 2, 2013 on Super Bowl weekend. The UFC traditionally runs a big card in Las Vegas that weekend. Presumably it could be UFC 156 but that is assuming that there will not be a numbered UFC event in January following UFC 155 on December 29, 2012.
SporTV is only claiming a verbal agreement for the fight with neither fighter having signed but they say they have multiple reliable sources for the information. It's important to note that this is exactly the kind of fight announcement that often ends up not panning out. It's highly likely that all of SporTV's sources are coming out of one camp.
The UFC often floats match ideas past fighters and their camps and secures verbal agreements from one side before talking to the other. Sometimes they get verbal agreements from both camps and still don't go forward with the fight. Remember no UFC match-up is official until it's announced by the UFC.
No headliner is rumored for this event yet, but if the UFC managed to book an Anderson Silva vs Georges St. Pierre superfight, February, 2013 would be an ideal time to make it happen. | Allow me to do some MMA mathematics and assume that if Phil Davis can beat Rogeiro, and Rashad can dominate Phil, then Rashad shouldn't have any problem beating Rogerio.

Could be a barn burner, or it could be a one sided grinding affair by Rashad. Nog's TDD looked much approved against Davis, but Evans is much faster. If Evans looses, he's dropping down to MW I bet

WOW Lil' Nog is in for a straight up ass whoopin'.
When he loses a battle, but it's close, I'm OK.
But this fight he's gonna have his face look like Maldonado's after the Glover fight.

Money on Rashad but Nog has definitely showed improved tdd after that Brilz match. Plus he does have some nice sweeps from the bottom , it'll be interesting to see if he can sweep Rashad.

I don't see rashad getting swept. My thoughts are that rashad uses his speed and wrestling to win a lopsided decision over an aging vet who will likely be dead tired after 1 1/2 rounds. Lil nog just hasn't impressed me too much since the cane KO.
War suga!

Rashad is going to kill Lil Nog IMO, wont even be close. This is a big step back for Rashad and i understand why he would want to take the move to MW
