| Lauzon Likes Being The Underdog, He “Really, Really Likes The Fight” With Gray Maynar Lauzon Likes Being The Underdog, He “Really, Really Likes The Fight” With Gray Maynard Quote:
For the eleven time “Fight Night” bonus winner, being the underdog is something Lauzon relishes and it’s a matchup that he “really, really likes.”
“Gray is tough, I mean you can’t put Gray down. He is one of the best athletes in the division for sure. He is really strong, good cardio athlete. He’s quick. He has great boxing and obviously great wrestling. Good jiu-jitsu to stay out of things. He is not great at finishing guys but no one has caught him either. He is just really, really tough.”
“But I think my style, I kind of have that spoiler style. I come out with things people aren’t expecting and I’ve done really well. I like when I am the underdog. I love it when I am the underdog. I think against Gray, I’m definitely (the underdog). He’s fought for the title a couple of times, while I haven’t. You have to look at him as the favorite but I really, really like the fight. I like the matchup.”

These are two of my favorite fighters and I'm really excited by how Gray seems to be pulling his standup together. Watching Lauzon grow into a fighter who can dominate past his early blitz (seems like is already is) and Gray into a fighter who effectively throws knees is my dream for 2013
I definitely see Gray as the favorite as well but Lauzon has a great chance to connect. Given how wild this fight is likely to be, both guys may have a shot of a TKO in the later rounds and as their cardio gets tested.
I'm more excited about this fight than any title fight of the year!

Lauzon is fuckin crazy asking for this fight....Lauzon had a lot of trouble with Varner, and I think Gray is better than Varner everywhere......much love to both of these fighters though

Lauzons gonna get Mauled imo. Grays top game and sub D are no joke, Im thinking Gray takes him down every round and dominates for the UD maybe the late GnP finish.

Sadly I think Gray Maynard is gonna whoop J. Lau's ass.
When maybe not WHOOP him, but definitely knock him out pretty early in the fight.
Kinda makes me sad to think that because I like Lauzon.

i really really like this fight too...for gray. i use to think gray was so boring, but man, his last three fights, he shocked and impressed me (even in a losing effort to frankie). i think a win (possibly a finish) over lauzon and one more win and he would have a strong case for another title shot, especially if nate pulls it off against benson. i would have loved to seen a fourth fight w/ edgar, but that seems moot at this point.

I don't see Lauzon making it out of the first round really. Maynard should be able to steam roll over him.

I really enjoy watching J-Lau fighting, I really enjoy his style of fighting which should keep him employed for a very long time.
With that said, Gray is on another level and should absolutely crush Joe.
