A pair of recent featherweight winners will look to put together much-needed win streaks in January.

Diego Nunes (18-3 MMA, 3-2 UFC) and Nik Lentz (24-5-2 MMA, 6-2-1 UFC) are set to meet when the UFC returns to Brazil.

As MMAjunkie.com first reported, the UFC will return to Brazil for the Jan. 19 event, though a host city hasn't been determined. The event is expected to be a UFC on FUEL TV or UFC on FX offering, not a pay-per-view card.

Portal do Vale Tudo first reported the bout, though MMAjunkie.com (UFC blog for UFC news, UFC rumors, fighter interviews and event previews/recaps | MMAjunkie.com) could not immediately confirm the fight with the UFC.

Massive fight for Lentz at FW after only one win and if he takes Nunes(big if), then he's immediately in the contendership mix, however being an accomplished wrestler, Lentz could very well ride this one out.

Personally, I think Lentz should've been mixed against somebody a little lower ranked, such as Manny, Yahya, Do Bronx II or Peralta, whereas I think Nunes would be better suited against a Zombie, Swanson or Hioki.

I've noticed a really weird theme of odd matchups at FW in the past few months. For example, I don't see much sense in Siver/Yagin, Mendes/Dias, to a lesser extent Brookins/Poirier and even think Lamas/Koch is a weird matchup given Lamas's hot hand. IMO, Mendes, Lamas and Nunes are among the tops of the division and I don't really get these matchups.

just the fact that Poirier has gone from zombie to brookins is odd to me.

My guess is that it is a bounceback fight for Poirier, however I think he matches up better with Koch, while providing Lamas a contendership-level fight with a Zombie or Mendes.
